Job Objective
DBS Bank is looking for a seasoned SRE engineer and leader with extensive experience in the Observability and Monitoring space and can develop enterprise standards and is able to drive enterprise adoption, effectiveness and governance in this space.
Responsibilities
- Work with SME(s) and SRE(s) across the bank to develop Observability and Monitoring standards and guidelines.
- Develop enterprise processes and governance to ensure full coverage and effectiveness of observability and monitoring across the enterprise.
- Operationalize and manage the ongoing operations for ensuring monitoring completeness and effectiveness
- Manage the daily operations of the Observability Center of Excellence (COE)
- Drive the Observability, Monitoring and SRE roadmap and practice in the bank.
- Work with various technology vendors to ensure the proper standards, topology and best practices are applied and practiced in the bank.
Requirements
- University graduate (computer science or related field) with good extensive experience in observability and monitoring of applications and infrastructure.
- Experienced in performing SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) roles.
- Experience in managing Observability and Monitoring platforms.
- Experience in performing business analysis, facilitate stakeholder workshops and perform stakeholder management.
- Experience in the Monitoring, Observability, ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change) domains.
- Experience in software development and testing.
- Experience in agile scrum / kanban framework and project management methodologies.
- Excellent understanding and working knowledge of setting up, managing and operationalizing Observability and Monitoring platforms such as ELK stack, Grafana stack, AppDynamics, etc.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in setting Observability and Monitoring standards and fine-tuning to achieve effectiveness.
- Excellent knowledge of Open Telemetry (OTEL) standards and implementation.
- Extensive experience and knowledge in Project and Program Management; including certifications in PMP and Prince2.
- Excellent knowledge of business services, infrastructure and application components.
- Excellent data analysis skills in performing data-driven service and performance improvements and troubleshooting.
- Good working knowledge and experience using JIRA, Confluence and various project management and collaboration tools.
- Software Engineering, including experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, JAVA, JavaScript etc is a plus.
