Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the instructions from the Superintending Officer, maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the Contract Specifications, Drawings
- Assist the Superintending Officer, SO Rep and/or SRE/RE in all aspects relating to the construction of the Project
- Attend all site progress, variation, co-ordination and design/technical meetings as required and to keep proper minutes of these meetings, relating to the Project and other duties
- Liaise and co-ordinate with Public Authorities/Statutory Boards/stakeholders and other Consultants employed by Client.
- Assist to resolve all site issues, including coordination with adjacent/ nearby construction sites and report to the supervising Qualified Persons
- Assist in the review of Contractor’s proposed method statement and working procedure and to verify that they are properly executed on site.
- Assist the Superintending Officer, SO Rep and/or SRE/RE to verify all variations carried on site.
- Provide full support and assistance to the Superintending Officer
- Keep track of requests, verify and measure variation works, provisional quantities, optional items, etc.
- Check the works carried out by Contractor against all drawings and specifications
- Keep and review records of works including materials, samples, site equipment, inspections, test reports, and ensure proper documentation.
- Ensure that works are carried out in a safe and proper manner and inspect completed works and report on defects.
- Assist the Superintending Officer, SO Rep and/or SRE/RE to prepare site instruction to the Contractor as well as list of defects of any completed works, check on quality of materials
- Monitor site progress and ensure all defects are satisfactorily rectified in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Minimally a Diploma in any construction-related field from any local or foreign polytechnic.
- The candidate must be a registered Resident Technical Officer with BCA.
- At least two (2) years site supervisory experience in reclamation related projects.
- A minimum of five (5) years of marine related projects or other related working experience may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Must be literate in English and have adequate knowledge to use computer, reply to emails, use computer software, e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
- At least two (2) years site supervisory experience in land-based construction related projects for projects that require land-based supervision works.
