We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager / Delivery Lead with a focus on core banking applications. This role requires over 10 years of experience in banking technology, specifically managing application development, enhancements, and regulatory compliance projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with business users, technical teams, and vendors to manage the full SDLC using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. The role emphasizes project delivery, ensuring banking applications are updated, secure, and aligned with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Project Leadership: Oversee the delivery of large-scale banking application projects, ensuring the seamless execution of upgrades, new functionalities, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- End-to-End Project Delivery: Collaborate with development teams, business users, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from user stories to implementation and support.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues related to banking application projects, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain clear and open communication with stakeholders, sponsors, and technical teams to align project objectives and manage expectations.
- Vendor & Resource Management: Manage external vendors and resource allocation to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met within budget constraints.
- Agile & Waterfall Project Management: Lead teams in both Agile and Waterfall environments, ensuring proper tracking of requirements, technical documentation, and progress.
- Testing & Compliance: Ensure projects adhere to banking regulatory standards, with thorough testing and validation to meet security and quality benchmarks.
- Production Support & Incident Management: Provide leadership during high-severity incidents and collaborate with production support teams to ensure issues are resolved swiftly.
- Project Reporting: Deliver regular updates to senior stakeholders, providing insights into project progress, risks, and resource utilization.
Core Competencies
- Banking Applications Expertise: Deep understanding of core banking application development and maintenance, including compliance with financial services regulations.
- Agile & Waterfall Project Management: Expertise in managing projects using both Agile (JIRA, Confluence) and Waterfall SDLC methodologies within the banking industry.
- CI/CD & Incident Management: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, and SonarQube, combined with skills in incident management using ServiceNow and BMC Remedy.
- Vendor & Resource Coordination: Proven ability to manage external vendors and allocate resources effectively to support application development and upgrades.
- Regulatory Compliance & Security: Extensive experience ensuring that banking applications comply with industry regulations, including security and audit requirements.
- Technical Development & Testing: Strong background in requirement gathering, application development, support, bug tracking, and regression testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in banking technology project management, with a focus on core banking applications.
- 10+ years of experience in Agile project management, with at least two recent banking application projects.
- Knowledge of Kafka, API development, and MariaDB is advantageous.
- Scrum Certified Professional (SCP) certification is required.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required
