Postion : Testing and Comissioning Engineer
Duration: Min. 1 year (with possible extension)
Venue: Multiple Locations within Singapore (Depots, Site office, Main Office) - Depending on projects.
Job Description
Detailed Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Support software verification and validation processes.
- Participate in onsite activities including system installation, system configuration, and pre-on-site test activities.
- Lead assigned dedicated work scope of Test and Commissioning (T&C).
- Participate and coordinate on-site test and commissioning activities with customers as witnesses.
- Conduct all required test procedures, methodologies, and equipment testing activities related to the project to obtain sign-off from the customer.
- Prepare technical proposals (testing and commissioning) for submission to regulatory authorities.
- Arrange all test equipment required for testing in coordination with the site manager and team leader.
- Mobilize required test equipment and ensure readiness for testing.
- Coordinate and liaise with customers on the application of Permit-To-Work for testing activities.
- Document and communicate procedures, configurations, and standards effectively.
- Prepare and compile test reports for submission to customers.
- Prepare and draft Method Statement Risk Assessment.
- Supervise and monitor site test activities for each specific T&C work.
- Provide support to team leaders and site engineers for all safety-related requirements.
- Develop test plans and test procedures for Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), Interface Tests (IFT), and System Integration Tests (SIT).
- Plan scheduling and job allocation for activities in coordination with the planner.
- Participate in technical discussions and report preparation.
- Organize training programs.
- Maintain and ensure the site is clear and tidy after each deployment.
- Troubleshoot and create tools to resolve incidents.
- Strive to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and availability of systems by applying software engineering practices and implementing application monitors and alerts.
- Be proactive in helping the team in any other areas within the scope of the software development life cycle.
- Handle ad hoc work, including administrative support, special projects, and on-site assistance, requiring flexibility and quick task adaptation.
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience in a railway environment.
- Proficiency in Linux operating system internals and network concepts.
- Experience developing tools using scripting languages such as Python.
- Ability to learn new technologies in complex operational control systems.
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive.
- Able to understand the regulation and requirements of local electrical practices and regulatory requirements.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to prepare test procedures and relevant technical documents.
- Ability to learn and perform cut-in/cut-out of circuits for new systems or reroute cables/systems requiring T&C.
- Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and on-call duty.
- Positive work attitude with initiative.
- Team player.
