GENERAL MANAGER (MANUFACTURING)

Asiatic Agricultural Industries Pte Ltd

Job Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning and Leadership:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve operational goals. In accordance with the policy of top management, formulate a yearly and short-to medium-term (2-5years) improvement plan for the in-charged departments, and carry out activities to achieve the goals.
  • Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams. Develop capacity/competency development plans for the organization and its employees, review, approve and implement them.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and drive continuous improvement.

2. Supply Chain Management:

  • Streamline production processes, ensuring timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Optimize inventory management to minimize costs and maintain adequate stock levels.

3. Quality Assurance, Quality Control & GMP processes

  • Establish and maintain quality standards across all processes and products.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality checks to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Address any quality-related issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • To promptly report it to top management if any abnormality occurs and work hand in hand with other departments to resolve the situation.

4. Enterprise Information System (EIS)

  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of EIS including upgrading the system as needed.
  • Optimizing and ensuring seamless integration of technology solutions.
  • Enhance data management and reporting systems.

5. Financial Management:

  • Monitor budgets, expenses, and financial performance. Prepare capital investment and personnel budget and submit to top management.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements. Reassess work flow and reduce redundancy.

6. Risk Management:

  • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies. Comply with laws and regulations and strive to create a work environment that takes into consideration the safety and hygiene of our employees.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.

7. Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead a team of department heads and professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members. Evaluate the performance of the members objectively and fairly, and give appropriate feedback to the members as an opportunity to improve their skills and motivation.
  • Set clear goals and KPIs for each department and monitor performance.

8. Interpersonal and Stakeholder Relations:

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, events and client engagements.

Job Requirements


Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years in management roles, with significant senior leadership experience in the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record in managing a manufacturing plant and overseeing multiple departments.
  • Experience in leading change initiatives and managing transitions in dynamic business environments.
  • Relevant certifications in Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, or Project Management are added advantage.

  • Leadership: Ability to lead and inspire teams across various departments.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capability to develop and implement long-term strategies.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and industry regulations.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance: Experience establishing and maintaining quality control systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and quickly addressing quality issues with preventive measures.
  • Technology Integration & Data Management: Experience managing and upgrading Enterprise Information Systems (EIS), optimizing data reporting, and driving technology-driven process improvements.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience managing budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities, improving operational efficiency. Proven experience with capital investment planning and budget submission to senior management.
  • Interpersonal & Stakeholder Relations: Strong interpersonal skills for cultivating and sustaining relationships with diverse stakeholders, while adeptly representing the company in professional and industry settings.
