Job Description & Requirements
Reporting to the Head, Business Planning & Integration, the candidate will be responsible for extracting, cleaning, and analysing data to provide valuable business insights. This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders to understand data needs, visualize data effectively, and where applicable, build interactive dashboards for ongoing analysis. The Data Analyst will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision-making processes within English/Malay/Tamil Media Newsrooms.
Key responsibilities:
· Work with internal stakeholders to identify data needs and extract relevant data from various sources.
· Clean and preprocess data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency for analysis.
· Analyse data using statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and insights that are relevant to business objectives.
· Collaborate with team members to understand business challenges and provide data-driven solutions.
· Develop and implement data visualisation strategies to clearly communicate findings to stakeholders.
· Utilise data visualisation tools to create intuitive graphs, charts, and other visual representations of data.
· Design and build dashboards that provide real-time insights and support strategic decision-making.
· Ensure dashboards are user-friendly and meet the needs of various stakeholders.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
· Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of projects demonstrating the ability to extract, clean, and analyse data.
· Experience in working with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfil data analysis needs.
· Hands-on experience in visualising data and building dashboards.
· Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
· Knowledge of statistical programming languages such as R or Python.
· Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
· Familiarity with dashboard development tools and techniques.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
· Strong collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively in a team and with stakeholders from different functional areas.
· Creative problem-solving abilities, with an aptitude for identifying and addressing business challenges through data analysis.
