Job Summary
Standard Chartered Bank is embarking on a multi-year Corporate and investment banking (CIB) Bank is seeking opportunities to revamp & improve the end-to-end client journey to improve client experience, technological & operational efficiency.
· CIB Financial Markets team has expertise combined with deep local market knowledge to deliver a variety of risk management, financing and investment solutions to our clients. The FM offers capabilities across origination, structuring, sales, trading and research. Offering a full suite of fixed income, currencies, commodities, equities and capital markets solutions, FM has firmly established itself as a trusted partner with extensive on-the-ground knowledge and deep relationships. As Head Digital Architect Financial Markets will be part of CIB Solution Architecture Team and required to work closely with Financial Markets Products Team, Business Teams, CIO technology teams to drive innovation, define functional and technical solution, architecture designs, own architecture decisions and governance.
· Strong influential and analytical skills. Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated technical leadership. Experience in establishing effective partnerships across teams and influence senior management, peers and subordinates. Enabling Digitization across the board and contribute towards bank’s Digitization journey collaborating the Harmony project. Define /Refine the operating model from Framework, Governance, solutioning perspective within the portfolio.
· Manage Technology Debts and Technology obsolescence. Collaborate with CIB Financial Markets development team and cross pollinate technology needs across.
The role is accountable and responsible for the following
· Head from front the Architecture transformation for Financial Markets
· Ownership for defining key elements of the FM IT architectural strategy
· Design and architect the solutions for Financial Markets Domain
· Enable Digitization across the board and contribute towards bank’s Digitization journey
· Provide strategic guidance for all solutions cutting products streams and channels such as Channels, Trade, Cash, Financial Markets
· Take a holistic view of the Business ask, process view and customer impact to define the solutions.
· Identify Impact of solutions on various systems, Interfaces, Data flows
· Align all solutions to defined architecture strategy.
· Design futuristic solutions with a focus on stability, operational scalability and low TCO.
· Provide Technical upliftment through sound knowledge of open systems technology stack and a deep understanding of the domain.
· Collaboration with key senior stakeholders and engineering teams across the domain.
· Ensuring the Financial Markets Architecture enables the effective delivery of the business strategy
· Representing complex architectural and engineering topics to senior FM business leaders
· Active lead and participant to the FM Technology Council and Virtual Architecture Team (VAT)
Strategy
· Responsible for Defining the Roadmap and the Strategy for CIB Financial Markets Domain
· Development of the Solution Roadmap ensuring compatibility with various Product strategies at a solution level, leveraging existing and new technologies.
· Responsible in establish a mission-driven strategy that is aligned with the overall Banks T&I Strategy, Goals and objectives
· Responsible in defining strategy to create value by tracing back technology and forecasting technology evolution, and market penetration changes
· Responsible in defining strategy to capture value by gaining competitive advantage over other & sustaining it
· Responsible in defining the strategy to deliver value to execute, make strategic decisions and take decisive actions
Business
· Responsible in bringing alignment between Business and IT, whereby business use T&I to achieve business Strategies & Objectives for the improvement of Financial Performance and marketplace competitiveness
· Responsible for providing software solutions to the Client, Front-line businesses, operations, middle office and product teams.
· Come up with achievable solutions that address business needs considering constraints, limitations and boundaries and align to the
· Responsible in designing technology to make sure business strategy can be realized through Technology & Technology investments are aligned with business.
· Instrumental in delivery Strategic IT solutions which can transforming business and complement business strategy by exploring new revenue streams
Processes
· Responsible for Ensuring application teams are adhering to Cyber Security Standard, Governance Frameworks
· Application development teams are in line with the Bank Standard approved Technology Stack
· Architecture governance to Resiliency Standards
· Architecture is reviewed and approved as per the Architectural Principles
People & Talent
· Understand business, functional and non-functional requirements and define solution, technology data, integration architecture and design for digital channels.
· Engage with various business and technology stakeholders, participate in agile squads to recommend, and finalise architecture design. Manage key stake holders and senior management for architecture decisions and inputs.
· Govern architecture through design and governance councils, collaborate with enterprise architecture stakeholders. Maintain architecture road maps aligned with business and technology drivers
· Lead architecture evaluation during RFPs for technology tools and service providers
Risk Management
· Govern, risks of Technology Debts, Technology obsolescence to the management to enable them in planning for necessary risk acceptance or investments
· Identify Delivery Risks
· Direct teams to act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent
Governance
· Ensure that technology partners and delivery teams adhere to the principles established in the enterprise architecture, governance, policies, principles, patterns
· Represent architecture in QPR, MPR, Architecture Design Council forums, Cloud Performance Review forum with Key stakeholders.
· Define the Terms of Reference and ensure the members clearly understand their roles and responsibilities on the respective governing bodies.

Our Ideal Candidate
· 10+ of years of experience in implementing large scale Financial Markets projects – eCommerce/Online Trading, Risk systems, Data Warehouse, Cloud Technologies
· Excellent grasp of architecture and design in distributed services architecture, channels security.
· Strong experience in being in an Architecture role in Financial Markets domain directly working with product owners and CIO teams.
· Graduate in Computers or Related
· Certification On TOGAF, Architecture, Cloud, Cyber Security will be an added advantage
Role Specific Technical competencies
· 10+ years of experience in full stack technologies in Web & Mobile, API, JAVA, RDBMS, NOSQL, messaging.
· Thoroughly able to define the Security Principles and has experience in the implementation
