Plan, monitor and supervise work of other engineers

Prepare technical reports, tender documents, bill of quantities, evaluate technical bids & reviews vendor/third party documents

Participate in Client and Contractor facing technical and progress meetings

Coordinate with the Client and Contractor and particular focus on liaising with relevant Authorities and overseeing wayleave applications

Co-ordination with other disciplines to resolve engineering issues during design development, review and check processes - to ensure design packages meet the relevant health, safety and environmental standards

Discussions with support engineers and designers regularly on scope, man-hours and schedule

Participate in the technical reviews and progress review of projects.

Undertaking civil engineering design, review and project management for a wide range of projects including land development, high density retail and other civil infrastructure

Commercial project delivery of a range of projects ensuring timeframes and budgets are met

Provision of specialist design and reporting expertise within a multi-disciplinary office

Management of client relationships on allocated projects including developers and contractors

Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering coupled with at least five years' experience within a consulting environment

Significant experience within the NSW market, ideally within the residential and commercial land development sector

Well-developed interpersonal skills to develop, maintain and enhance client relationships

Undertaking civil engineering design, review and project management for a wide range of projects including land development, road infrastructure, high density retail and other civil infrastructure

Manage a team of engineers / designers / drafters

Requirement:

Job Scope

1. Perform Quantity take-off for tendering of projects.
2. Prepare BQ, tender document, cost comparison for tender project including source, compiles, evaluates, and negotiate price with suppliers and sub-contractors according to tender requirements.
3. Prepare and assist in project final account.
4. Prepare project costing in the bidding process.
5. Prepare and submit project claims and ensure that claim forms are signed by client within the specified period. (SOP 3 working days)
6. Initiate and assist in project cost planning control and budget estimation.
7. Project administration and documentation include preparation of sub-contract, VO, and ensure timely submission of monthly progress claims, and final account.
8. Collect, organize and keep records of relevant forms and documents required for project claim purpose. (Including variation orders and correspondences)
9. Follows up effectively on payment certificate and payment with the clients.
10. To handle on-going project and resolve contractual issues with clients.
11. Carry other contracts and administration tasks or other assigned duties as required.

Procurement

1. Negotiate with vendors and acquiring the goods and services for the best price available.
2. Review purchase orders prepared by subordinates to ensure purchases are valid.
3. Maintain the records concerning the purchase of materials.
4. Working with suppliers to ensure that key processes are running efficiently and cost-effectively.
5. Building strong working relationships with key suppliers.
6. Provide products specification and rate to the relevant department.
7. Monitor purchases made are within the sales contracts or quotation.

Statement Of Purpose (Overall Purpose of Job)

To keep track and monitor the project finances as well as build and maintain contractual relationship between Clients, Consultants and relevant authorities etc. and ensure that the financial position of the project is accurately reported and effectively controlled.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
(A) Specific:

• Responsible for the Quantity Surveying and Contract Administration.
• Request / sources for quotations from sub-contractors / suppliers.
• Prepare tender and contract documentation including collection and checking for completeness of documents.
• Prepare and analyze costing for tenders.
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
• Handle and closing of tender for submission.
• Assist in preparing payment certificates.
• Prepare and submit progress claim and variation orders.
• Compile full set of measurement for Final Account Submission.
• Assist in monthly monitoring actual cost versus budget.
• Liaise with Clients, Consultants, Sub-contractors, Suppliers and relevant authorities etc.
• Review construction subcontracts between company and subcontractors including general and special terms and conditions, requisitions, specifications and drawing, procedures.
• Site visit and attend site meeting, if applicable.

(B) General:

• Maintain proper documents and filing of drawing for all tenders according to requirement as per ISO Standards, if applicable.
• Coordinate and work with other departments.
• Prepare the relevant reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

(C) Safety:

• To follow the safety procedures, rules and regulation and eliminate or reduce hazard at the workplace.
