Main Accountabilities:

• Performing service tasks, identifying technical problems, and making analysis through remote or onsite activity in any service categories (installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, up-grades and retrofits, end of life services, replacements, etc.)
• Contributing to customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation.
• Creating and maintaining a good relationship with customers and understanding their needs.
• Identifying new sales opportunities and communicates them internally Coordinating, preparing, and ensuring that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for Service activities.
• Preparing all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative and reporting work done in a timely manner and following up when needed.
• Identifying potential equipment failures and requesting proactive corrective actions.
• Troubleshooting equipment failure and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future Identifying suggestions for product and quality improvement and communicating them further in the ABB organization.
• Providing recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service.
• Ensuring safe working procedures and practices are always followed including the wearing and maintaining of assigned personal protective equipment, attendance at required health, safety, and environment training, reporting injury, incidents, hazards, and near miss events.

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, especially in Un-interrupted Power Supply (UPS) field.
• Good understanding and competence in Uninterruptible Power Supply.
• High level of mechanical aptitude and Interpretation of Electrical drawings skills
• Knowledge of Electrical testing fundamentals is an added advantage
• Ability to amicably negotiate and provide good customer service
• Good in MS Office

General information

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for executing Service work with low to medium complexity according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines.

Reporting to Service Manager, you will be delivering quality customer service to satisfy customers. In close co-operation with customer and other ABB teams, take actions to identify new Service business opportunities for ABB.

Service Delivery

• Execute after sales business activity preventive & condition based maintenance, trouble-shooting, repairs and commissioning.
• Actively coordinate with operation supervisors for optimal service potentials from regular customer interactions.
• Proactively involve in self learning and practical exposure for continuous competence and productivity improvement.
• Maintain high level of personal leadership on safety and quality on work performed as well as documentations.
• Reports early any technical/contract/quality/program/cost issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution.

Your background

• Diploma, ITC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics engineering with at least 3 years hands on repair and service experience on electrical equipment.
• Experience on LV & MV VFD will be an advantage
• Strong electrical or electronics engineering fundamental knowledge. Knowledge on theory, structure, application, testing methodology and component fault diagnosis/analysis will be added advantage.
• Strong self-discipline with initiative and learning spirit with positive attitude, team work and responsibility.

• Troubleshooting equipment/process failures and requesting proactive corrective actions and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
• Planning and executing work on a first-time right approach with customers, and ensures the job is done on time and on quality.
• Providing technical guidance to associates. Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.
• Applying safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities. Reporting unsafe practices and incidents.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical.
• Minimum 3 years in Electrical Engineering, especially in Un-interrupted Power Supply (UPS) field.
• A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
