We are expanding our laboratory unit at the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Office, SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Center. This is a Research Officer position. You will be working on molecular and cellular characterization of genes and biochemical/functional experiments related to translational aspects of human carcinogenesis, as well as mouse models.

Requirements:

- Bachelor of Science with Honors.
- Technical competence in a broad set of laboratory skills.
- Laboratory experience in molecular biological and cell culture techniques will be required.
- Experience in handling experiment with laboratory mice.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently, a good team player with good communication skills and dedication to the job.
- Conscientious, well organized and efficient in work management.
- Basic skills in computing and statistics analyses.

• Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator to design, plan, and execute research projects focusing on maternal-child health, particularly in reproductive health studies.

• Supervise the day-to-day progress of research projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and deadlines.

You will be part of the team comprises therapists, paediatricians, nurses and administrative staff alongside with PAP Community Foundation in the School-based Child Development Unit (SCDU) to transfer the necessary skill required, then codify the skills and knowledge into new systems and processes for scaling up to deliver a fuller suit of services young family need. Main duties and responsibilities:

• To ensure research protocol is adhered to and conducted in accordance to IRB requirements.
• To liaise with internal and external agencies/parties and facilitate successful implementation of studies.
• To prepare schedule for site visits and data collection (e.g., administration of consent forms, surveys, etc).
• To assist with research matters such as literature review and writing of scientific manuscripts for publication.

Responsibilities:

• Provide research support service for clinical trials/research in accordance to ICH-GCP and protocol requirements

• Assist the sponsor or PI in the submission process for CIRB &/or HSA
• Handle complex commercial or IITs including overseeing recruitment of subjects
• Ensure full accountability of study equipment and investigational products during monitoring and study close-out
• Assist in quality control and prepare for quality assurance
• Provide instructions to Finance to issue invoices and handle communications between PI and sponsor companies
• Attend investigator meeting and start-up meeting for trials
