JOB DESCRIPTION

The Subject Teacher for English as an Additional Language (EAL - Secondary) is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality English language support to students who are non-native speakers. The teacher provides tailored instruction to help EAL students build proficiency in English, enabling them to fully engage in the academic and social aspects of school life. This role involves working collaboratively with homeroom teachers to provide inclusive and integrated language support aligned with curriculum goals and international standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• A relevant degree plus teaching qualification
• CELTA qualification (preferred) TESOL/DELTA (desirable)
• Evidence of continued relevant professional development
• Experience working with English as an Additional Language learners, and those with diverse needs
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in an international school environment where the school curriculum focused on PYP, MYP, IGCSE or IBDP
• Experience of delivering English for Academic Purposes
• IELTS experience (desirable)
• Empathy, Flexibility
• The ability to work collaboratively with team members and colleagues for learning, planning and teaching.

Job Description
