Job Description

The Research Engineer (RE) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and the team members to ensure the successful completion of the study on time.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The RE will liaise with the relevant personnel in the project, and will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI) & the team. The RE will be able to:

1. Oversee the general management of the projects with the Department of Mechanical Engineering and;

2. Undertake the day to day overseeing the progress of the project at various study sites, e.g. Collaborate with team members at the study sites;

4. Conduct literature searches relevant to the project and for future related projects;

Have a degree from local/foreign universities in the field of Mechanical Engineering, with expertise in smart manufacturing and knowledge in programming.

• Provide technical leadership and management of 200MM and 300MM Semiconductor processing equipment in Support of Main Stream Semiconductor Processes and Advanced Packaging processes. Highly desirable for a candidate to have a background in at least one of the following areas: Photolithography, PVD and CVD Thin Films, Dry Etch, Wet Etch /Wafer Clean, Diffusion, Bond, Electroplate (ECD), CMP, or Metrology (some areas may be combined).

Required Qualifications

Successful candidate is expected to work in the field of AI for Science. Especially, the work is to develop advanced AI models for computational physics and computational materials applications. The candidate will also conduct calculations using DFT and/or AIMD for generating training dataset.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a master’s degree in physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. They should also have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and able to guide undergraduate students to conduct projects. Successful candidate is expected to perform DFT/AIMD calculations to understand the underlying physics for explainable AI model development.
