The Senior Executive will take on the administrative tasks relating to academic research at the School of Social Sciences. The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) seeks a Research Fellow in the areas of disaster risk, with a focus on quantitative risk assessment and modelling for natural hazards (volcano, earthquake or tsunami). SUN-DAC is a non-profit social service agency affiliated with the National Council of Social Service. It serves and cares for persons with disabilities in 3 Day activities centres (Upper Thomson, Choa Chua Kang & Bedok South). Most of our clients are persons with moderate to severe disabilities.

SUN-DAC mission is to help people with disabilities to live each day positively with tailored programmes of constructive activities. It also provides respite for parents and caregivers of people with disability through support and assistance services.

The Training Officer will be responsible for the daily training provided for SUN-DAC’s clients.

Core Responsibilities:

• To use evidence based methods to train and assist adults with disabilities in ADLs (activities of daily living), CLSs (community living skills and pre-vocational skills.
• Attend to the personal needs of these adults and ensure their safety and well-being.
• Complete and submit required documentation in a timely manner.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide an individual care plan for each client.
• Assists Senior Training Officer to provide guidance and support to Training Officers.

Job Scope

Working with our analytics and research operation teams, this entry-level role will be involved in the end-to-end process of market research. The key areas are detailed below:

Research, Analysis and Insights

• Support and work on a variety of research, including both qualitative (e.g. focus groups and in-depth interviews) and quantitative research (e.g. surveys and secondary data sources)
• Aid screener questions, discussion guides as well as survey questions
• Review and process data that is collected to ensure high quality standards
• Prepare tabulation specifications and create report templates and charts
• Translate the data and information into insights, that will help clients make informed decisions
• Analysing and synthesising data into easy-to-understand visuals and charts
• Writing commentaries in a narrative style, including summary and recommendations

Project Management

• Manage project timelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams (i.e. programmers, vendors, data science, etc) to ensure timely project completion
• Manage or assist in project setup and fieldwork management
• Support fieldwork audit and quality control efforts
• Check survey link to ensure there are no errors
• Provide regular project or fieldwork updates to clients

Job requirements and expectations

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in related field, such as market research, business or marketing
• 1 year of related work experience preferred but otherwise fresh polytechnics and university graduates are also welcomed
• Strong attention to detail and able to multi-task with good time management
• Possesses great soft skills and personality - approachable, candid, go-getting and collaborative
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

The ECE department is looking for candidates to conduct research on microarchitectures that support emerging computing paradigms (i.e., brain-inspired or quantum-inspired computing). The candidates will explore microarchitecture designs that support these emerging computing paradigms using a system-technology co-design approach. The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) is a research centre of excellence in Singapore. The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is offering a position for a postdoctoral fellow who will work on quantum cryptography, specifically multi-party quantum cryptography. Sample topics include

• quantum homomorphic encryption, quantum private information retrieval and secure delegated quantum computation;
• composable security for multi-party quantum cryptography;
• quantifying tradeoffs between security and noise in multi-party quantum cryptography;
• using quantum error correction for noise resilient quantum cryptography

Job Requirements

he candidate should have a strong track-record working on technical aspects of quantum information theory and cryptography. The candidate is expected to have a PhD in electrical engineering, computer science, physics or applied mathematics and a publication record in quantum information theory.

The candidate will work closely with Assoc. Prof. Marco Tomamichel . The position is funded by the QEP (Quantum Engineering Programme) project “Quantum homomorphic encryption: the Swiss army knife for the quantum internet?” and thus the research conducted must be within its scope, i.e., roughly around the sample topics mentioned above.
