The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) at Nanyang Technological University is an interdisciplinary School that aims to be a world leader in environmental research focusing on environmental challenges in Asia. We are currently seeking passionate and experienced Freelance Associate Lecturer to join our team to provide nursing related trainings and contribute to the education of aspiring nursing assistants and even care givers.

Responsibilities

As an Freelance Associate Lecturer, you will play a vital role in training and preparing students for healthcare assistant related careers such as nurse assistants, patient service associates, etc. At the same time, you may also be deployed to train care givers to learn the necessary techniques on care giving. The Research Fellow will work on a project to conduct the research on development ingestible electronic/robotic platform capable of continuous monitoring and on-demand for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and to conduct the investigation on development of ingestible robotic system to enable continuous monitoring of disease relevant biomarkers and on-demand delivery of therapeutics in the gastrointestinal tract in a non-invasive and automated manner. The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to work on integrating geological and geophysical observations towards better understanding of the tectonic deformation and kinematics of the Southeast Asian Ring of Fire. They will also seek to understand linkages between volcanoes and tectonic systems in the region.

The candidate will work under the supervision of Assoc Prof Shengji Wei and will collaborate with the researchers from the ‘Integrating Volcano and Earthquake Science and Technology (InVEST) in Southeast Asia’ project, a 5-year project that aims to provide a holistic understanding of regional tectonics, volcanoes, the linkages between the two, and their cascading hazards and impacts in Singapore and Southeast Asia. We will be hiring a large number of research staff and students to work on this project, so it promises to be a very exciting time to join our team!

Job Responsibilities

-Work with project PI to develop robust catalysts (3 or more) that convert low-quality used cooking oil to sustainable aviation fuel

-Assist in synthesis and formulation of the catalyst, and testing of the catalyst in hydroprocessing using pressurized H2 in small scale Parr reactors.

-Assist in experimental design and optimize parameters required for the lab-scale to large-scale reactions (>500g) for synthesis of the catalysts using solution and/or solid-state methodologies

-Assist in experimental design and optimize parameters required for the lab-scale to large-scale hydroprocess reactions in large-scale 1L Parr reactors.

-Perform scale-up the pre-treatment process, several litres per batch, using large-scale equipment such as the liquid-liquid extractor unit

-Characterization of the catalyst candidates using
