What you will be working on

The officer will play an active role in the planning, development and management of future solid waste management facilities such as Waste-to-Energy plant and food waste treatment plant that will contribute towards the targets set forth under the SG Greenplan 2030. • At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in engineering will be highly preferred.
• Knowledge in solid waste management systems, project management and review of building plans and engineering drawings would be advantageous

What the role is

Infrastructure Planning and Design Department 1 (IPDD1) plans for and carries out the detailed engineering design and development of infrastructure projects for the collection of general waste and disposal/use of waste treatment residues, and the remediation and redevelopment of closed landfills.

You will be part of the Waste Residues Treatment Branch of IPDD1, in charge of planning, managing and implementing infrastructure projects to treat waste residues and will also be involved in other projects handled by the Department. You will be required to work closely with various stakeholders in the government & private sectors.

What you will be working on

You will be responsible for the following:

• Plan, manage and co-ordinate projects to dispose/use waste residues such as incineration ashes and non-incinerable waste
• Plan, request and manage funding for waste infrastructure projects
• Manage and supervise the construction of waste treatment infrastructure to process waste residues
• Explore innovative technologies to convert waste residues into useful products for use as e.g. reclamation fill materials

What the role is
