We are looking for a talented and mature Sr. Manager to join our team in Singapore!

As a Sr. Manager in the engineering team (Developers & Functional Testers), you will be reporting to the Engineering Sr Director who is the CT&C ART Technical Business Owner. Your focus will be to oversee the day-to-day activities of a team roughly of size 6 to start with, who will report directly to you. The team would comprise of engineers ranging from fresh college graduates to senior experienced professionals with close to 4-6 or even more years of relevant experience.

The engineers design, build and enhance solutions meant for our customers in an agile, fast-paced environment. You will be working with colleagues across the company, who will help support and challenge you every day. Designing solutions, writing code, unit testing code, developing test cases, automating test cases and frequent check-ins for continuous integration is part of the DNA of this engineering team. You will see your team’s code going to production in just a few weeks and used by strategic accounts worldwide. Our team, as well as our group works under the principles of a common engineering model with both development and test automation expertise. You are expected to have hands-on experience and sufficient knowledge to guide the engineers and unblock them as needed on an on-going basis. This role will also need you to manage Scrum ceremonies for the teams under CT&C ART based out of Singapore, carefully oversee co-ordination with other teams and stakeholders within the Train and cross-functional teams across other DPS One Trains to ensure proper planning, execution, and delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Actively oversee developer activities for feature development and bug fixing and ensure delivery of on-time, high-quality, secure code.
• Review high and low level design of new systems as well as enhancements / defect fixing that the team undertakes and provide input / proper guidance as needed.
• Ability to guide engineers to design systems in addition to guidance available from architecture team in terms of technical direction of solution to be implemented.
• Review test strategy and test cases meant for functionally testing features end-to-end, to ensure optimum quality of solutions.
• Be able to review and recommend as needed any open-source / commercial tools that the team is considering for an engineering solution.
• Stay on top of test automation being carried out for functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, bug tracking etc. and provide input as needed to improve quality metrics.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to plan timely and smooth releases of features into Sandbox and Production environments. Remove obstacles that impede work processes.
• Help plan team backlog work and oversee adherence to Agile / Scrum process every sprint. Unblock them on different aspects as needed to help make progress.
• Be prepared to play an active Scrum Master role for the Scrum Teams and be responsible for adherence to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) best practices followed across DPS One. Specifically, take on the responsibility to help plan and co-ordinate Planning Interval (PI) activities every quarter, system demo, oversee sprint activities, manage any scope change with product and architecture stakeholders, upkeep of JIRA Align and JIRA hygiene, and so on.
• Working closely with peer people leaders within the ART to support the teams’ overall charter in a holistic way and be open to matrix management model across all team members (not just direct reports) if needed to support any project.
• Becoming the bridge / core contact point for Product, Architect, PMO, Dev & QA along with all other potential stakeholders in the pipeline for all past, on-going, and upcoming projects / features is a major responsibility for this role.

We seek an individual with tenured commissioning experience in complex technology facilities for the position of  Mechanical Cx Engineer (Cx Eng) at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Singapore (Fortis).  The CxEng is responsible for implementation, monitoring, deployment and conformance to Fortis’ commissioning program guidelines and supporting processes/procedures throughout the organization.  The candidate will work directly with Fortis senior management, our trade partners, equipment vendors, owner, and third-party CX consultants.

The Cx Eng will report to the Commissioning Manager on a specific site and be accountable for implementing and successfully executing Fortis’ corporate commissioning program.

The CxEng is expected to be a very detailed individual with extensive experience commissioning large projects such as industrial plants, data centres, and pharmaceutical plants. The successful CxEng must have excellent Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with construction workers, Fortis’ client, the Fortis management team, and subcontractors of all tiers. 

Responsibilities Specific to the Role:

• Integrate and work as part of a true “One Team” approach on the project, working closely with Fortis co-workers, subcontractors, the owner, and third-party QC and Cx teams.
• Review all project documents including design drawings, equipment submittal, specifications, and Quality Control plan, and understand project requirements pertaining to start-up and commissioning.
• The owner has selected BIM 360 Field software to track all QA/QC documentation and deficiency logs for the project. The Cx Eng will attend Fortis training on the software and is expected to become proficient with it and its capabilities.
• Review Project “Equipment Tracking Log” which serves as the Inspection and Test Plan for all major MEP equipment.  Oversee and ensure the required inspections and tests are carried out in accordance with the approved plan.
• Assist in developing the detailed L3 (Start-Up) micro schedule, which includes all inspections, energization, start-up, and testing required to reach “L4 Readiness.”
• Review and verify that subcontractor QA/QC documentation is completed in accordance with project requirements and the QA/QC plan. It is expected the candidate will be a very detailed individual with extensive previous experience working as an Mechanical Site Manager or Construction Manager on data center projects.  There will be a significant amount of “hands on” work coordinating approved design documents and ensuring installed work in the field are in compliance with such documents.  The candidate must have excellent Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. This candidate should understand all aspects of construction in relation to executing work on-site

The candidate will assist with the QA/QC program throughout the design and construction phase of the largest multistory data center in Asia (The Project).

Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, the candidate will be responsible for assuring the implementation and compliance with the Quality Assurance System and for scope of work related to mechanical items. 

It is expected the candidate will be a very detailed and organized individual with extensive previous experience working as a QA/QC on large, international projects with deep knowledge of mechanical systems. There will be a significant amount of “hands on” work understanding and implementing the VDC QA/QC systems. The candidate must have excellent leadership and Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. Singapore operations.  The candidate will work directly with the Engineering Manager and the subcontractors throughout the construction phase of the largest multistory data center in Asia (The Project).

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating DfMA-related works with the contractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents.  This role is focused on working in the field and will report directly to the Engineering Manager. This candidate should understand all aspects of construction in relation to executing Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) work. 

It is expected that the candidate will be detail-oriented with previous experience working as a supervisor or manager at a DfMA/PPVC factory for data center projects and/or other complex technical projects.  There will be a significant amount of “hands on” work coordinating with contractors in the field during the installation of all aspects of the project superstructure.  The candidate must have strong Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. We are seeking an individual with architectural technical experience for the position of Mechanical Project Engineer at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Singapore operations.  The candidate will work directly with the Mechanical Project Manager and the subcontractors throughout the six-year design and construction phase of the largest multistory data center in Asia (The Project).

Reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager, the candidate will be accountable for ensuring the work required such as submittals, RFI’s, coordination drawings, updating documents, etc are complete, ready and approved for Mechanical Subcontractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents.  This role is focused on working with the Mechanical Project Manager who is managing the Mechanical Subcontractor field operations and installation details for a large complex data center project, having stringent technical requirements.  

It is expected the candidate will be a very detail-oriented individual with previous experience working as an Mechanical Project Engineer on data center projects and or other complex technical projects.  There will be a significant amount of “hands on” work coordinating approved design documents and ensuring installed work in the field are in compliance with such documents.  The candidate must have strong Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. team, subcontractors of all tiers, vendors and immediately establish trust and confidence in his/her ability.

Responsibilities:

• Represent Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. in the utmost professional manner while constantly embracing honesty, integrity, and truth

• Work intensively with the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team to coordinate all the architectural trade work with other trades
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, mechanical systems interrelationships, construction sequencing and project schedule.
• Develop close working relationship with Mechanical subcontractors as well as discipline leads from the Owner.
• Assist subcontractor in development of scope, cost, coordination, schedule, procurement, submittals, RFIs, & change management.
• Work intensively with the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team to coordinate all the mechanical trade work with other trades.
• Facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and CSA subcontractors during construction.
• Work closely with the Mechanical & Plumbing Construction Managers to lead the mechanical subcontractor installation drawing approval process between the mechanical subcontractor, Resident Engineer, Resident Technical Officer, Accredited Checker, and the Local Authority having Jurisdiction, and Assist in the receipt and review of all mechanical submittals.
• Log and post all mechanical changes and as-built information on field drawings. Provide such information to VDC team so such information can be incorporated into the final virtual model.
• Ensure all information is current and communicated with the MEP project team.
• Interface with the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) manager for all client provided equipment.
• Attend relevant Factory witness testing as directed by the Mechanical Manager.
• Liaison with the Mechanical engineering consultants, supervisory engineers, Inspectors and relevant staff.
• Assist in implementation the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. cloud-based QA/QC program for the Mechanical scope of work.
• Ensure that Mechanical Subcontractors adhere to relevant Quality documentation/records.
• Assist in the testing and commissioning of Mechanical equipment.

Position Summary:

The Technical Project Manager, or known as Engineering Delivery Manager within Thales, is responsible for leading his team to the completion of engineering tasks within committed budgets, schedules, quality and performance for successful bids and projects delivery. He coordinates and monitors the implementation of all engineering tasks throughout the whole life cycle of a bid/project.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure engineering activities are well managed within constraints of bids/projects, approved architecture, design policy, contracts, and company quality requirements.
• Lead collaborative discussion and co-engineering between internal teams, vendors and customers to analyse, prioritise and validate stakeholders' requirements.
• Ensure that engineering scope, plans and activities satisfy customer requirements, and are delivered on time, on budget and with the required quality.
• Work closely with Design Authority to oversee and approve the outcome of evaluation studies on design alternatives, and to provide advice to both the customer and internal technical teams.
• Through broad consultation, ensure the production of the required documentation in support of the project, to the satisfaction of the customer and internal senior management.
• Liaise with customers on technical, architectural and procedural issues as required, ensure that scope creep is avoided.
• Define the engineering work breakdown structure, project organisation structure, tasks schedule, engineering KPIs, and associated engineering tasks. Tailor as required and ensure all baseline requirements are met.
• Define the strategy for development, build increments, validation, and project commissioning.
• Follow up closely on defined KPIs and ensure issues discovered (such as risks of changes, schedule, anomalies, etc) are addressed promptly according to different project phases.
• Perform periodic reporting to internal senior management and customer according to Thales methodology (Chorus) and common methods such as SAFe/SCRUM.
• Ensure the implementation of multi-project synergies and lessons learnt, in order to optimize cost of technical solutions.
• Manage engineering risks & opportunities during bids and project phase, guarantees programme commitments, including those flown down to subcontractors and partners.
• Optimise technical work against costs, schedule and risks from design to validation and acceptance of the solution.
• Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed, in conjunction with the functional Engineering Head or Director.
• Manages Work Package Managers (WPM) and Integration Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) Manager to ensure successful completion of respective milestones.
• Other duties as directed by the Project Manager or functional Engineering Head.

Essential Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or related discipline
• Experience working within a Systems Engineering lifecycle
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Senior Engineering role
• Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience in IT/security/C2/defence related projects from a Systems Engineering perspective
• Good knowledge on how large projects are managed
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Strong liaison and stakeholders management skills
• Strong motivation to be involved in all phases of a project life cycle, from bids to project completion

Desirable Requirements:

• Membership of relevant professional organisation, e.g. INCOSE, Institution of Engineers, etc.
