The Industrial Engineering Supervisor is responsible for brokerage business planning, seasonal volume forecasting, planning tools and report development. He/She conducts regular volume forecasting review meeting with geo operations to ensure the planning are aligned and well executed. The IE Supervisor supports right size operations through accurate planning and regular reviews to ensure operation achievement of the business plan. This position also supports to build staffing simulation template and suggest process that could help operation enhance efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Brokerage Business Planning:
- Develops APAC brokerage business planning as a center of expert, utilize the export volume projection from marketing and import volume projection from region IE to project brokerage financial files and productivity files.
- Creates productivity goal setting based on enterprise/country initiatives without impacting services.
- Develops annual staffing projections by week and by day of week for processes to provide a cost-effective operating plan.
- Allocates volume, productivity and staffing into daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly view.
Volume Projection and Data Analysis:
- Monthly volume forecasting, bi-weekly adjustment based on historical data and market trend.
- Bi-weekly review meeting with countries to align volume projection and ensure they are executed. As well as review gaps and keep record to evaluate future adjustment.
- Develops quarterly and yearly plans to forecast resource needs to ensure UPS’s ability to meet business plan objectives.
- Reviews and updates forecast as required to maintain validity of forecast projections (i.e., ensure measures are still relevant and conform to accepted IE principles) and adherence to Business Plan goals.
- Assumes project management responsibilities and conducts financial analysis when required to ensure project remains on budget and schedule.
- Conducts follow-up with Area Managers to discuss plan effectiveness and influence decision making.
Develops Brokerage Planning Tool and Report Template
- Creates brokerage OMR Input Pannel, slicer report for brokerage KPI elements.
- Leads brokerage analyst to create brokerage daily/weekly/monthly report, ensure they are published timely and accurately.
- Develops staffing simulation template for HR hiring purpose.
Other Operational Supports:
- Supports ah-hoc requests on data analysis for budget and staffing requirement for new initiatives.
- Supports valuate staffing impact for new projects.
- Participates in Business Review and Planning meetings and works with the operations management team to implement solutions and conduct follow-up.
- Justifies and presents recommendations (e.g., improved job set ups, operating plans, etc.) to I.E. Section Leader, Area Manager and Brokerage Division Manager and staff management for approval, as appropriate.
Job Requirements
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mathematics, Process Management or any relevant field of disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience performing in a similar capacity coming from Industrial Engineering and Brokerage background.
- Requires excellent command of English communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to converse effectively and able to work well with people of all levels.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, high sensitivity to figures with problem-solving abilities.
- Energetic self-starter with excellent learning agility, attention to details, positive attitude with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities within tight deadlines.
- Require demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Programs (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) and programming tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
