• Read RFQ documents and specifications normally pertaining to off gases from chemical plants and refineries
• Calculate the Heat balance of inlet and outlet process gases and the by-products of combustion, good knowledge of corrosion principles is a plus.
• Create A PID showing all major components, Burners, dampers, fans, expansion joints, gas trains, multi fuel trains, stacks, boilers, hot water coils, pumps, piping systems for air, liquids and gas.
• Select basic instruments required to make process work and meet basic safety codes: - Pressure transmitters, RTD’s, Thermocouples, Pressure Switches, Flow Meters, Ph meters conductivity meters, limit switches, actuators (pneumatic and electric)
• Prepare operating fuels consumption lists as well as electrical consumption at various loads
• Prepare preliminary Layouts for basic components, advise design team on what to draw, Instrument lists and sizing
• Size all ductwork and interconnecting piping both low pressure <10 kpa and high pressure > 10 barg, calculate hydraulic loss calculations for ductwork, gas piping, and liquid piping

Due to our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer, ideally with Data Centre experience, to work as part of a team on technically challenging projects.

As a fast-paced, growing business; this role will be responsible for contributing to projects to deliver excellent service levels to clients and assisting in the ongoing development and growth of the business, whilst providing sound technical, design support.

We’re looking for an experienced engineering professional to provide sound technical design support on mechanical building services engineering disciplines, ensuring project requirements and clients’ specifications are fully met.

Key responsibilities will also include –

Contributing to the team to ensure successful preparation and delivery on project objectives, including providing technical support.

• Working with other Engineers and project teams to ensure quality and timely operation delivery for clients.
• Compiling specifications, drawings and relevant Contract documents and maintaining the required technical quality of work, ensuring that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures.
• The contribution of elements and components of projects from concept design through to completion, executing building services engineering activities within the budget and schedule, whilst maintaining technical integrity.
• Providing mechanical building engineering services design to buildings and infrastructure.

The successful candidate will have –

• A relevant degree in mechanical building services engineering, or equivalent qualification or sufficient suitable experience.
• The ability to demonstrate extensive experience in a wide range of technical areas.
• Sound level of knowledge and experience of mechanical engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
• Desirable experience of Data Centres.
• An appreciation of complementary specialisms such as acoustics, fire engineering and computer modelling in the design of buildings.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.
• Computer literate including Autocad, REVIT, Navisworks, IES, Hevacomp, CFD software and Microsoft Office.

Job Description

• To supervise the project to ensure that the works are constructed in accordance to the project specifications, construction drawings and Building Control Act and Regulations.
• Manage and supervise the RTOs in performing their duties on site so that they can provide satisfactory supervision.
• Provide administrative control and maintaining proper records including site attendance, leave records, overtime records and inspections checklists.
• Review Contractor's submissions, work method statements and work demonstrations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and resolving site discrepancies to prevent delays.

Job Description

• Responsible for the running of small projects. Researches, develops, designs and assumes responsibility for coordination and monitoring of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc.
• Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes
• Surveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installations
• Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirements
• Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teams
• Preparation of specification modifications (word or excel)
• Ensure engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards

Experiences / Qualifications
