Responsibilities :
• Performs activities related to the electrical works and maintenance needed onboard the Company’s fleet of vessels
• Systems / power generation / backup power source / fire detection system and submit to technical manager.
• Assist to guide onboard engineers on the task which require electrical engineers’ competencies so as to operate and maintain electrical/electronic/electro-hydraulic/electro-pneumatic/automation systems efficiently.
• Attend & assist fleet vessels to manage electrical / electronic / electro-hydraulic/electro-pneumatic/ automation equipment Attend & assist the Fleet vessels with day-to-day maintenance management of electrical/electronic/electro-hydraulic or electro-pneumatic/ automation systems.
• Reviewing the fleet planned maintenance schedule of electrical/electronic/electro-hydraulic or electro-pneumatic/ automation failures and carry out fault diagnosis with the aim to resolve the issue.
• Advise the Technical Superintendent for the need of shore assistance or need to procure spares in case defects of equipment failures which cannot be resolved thru onboard attendance.
• Carry out on board attendance in liaison with the Technical Superintendents
• Provide work done report and submit to technical manager on the fleet vessels attended
• Carry out Annual IR Test of electrical Motors & Generators of Fleet vessels
• Carry out annual calibration of Cargo tanks Temperature and Pressure sensors, manifold pressure gauges of fleet vessels
• Carry out annual calibration of Fixed Gas detectors
• Provide support to Project team by reviewing Electrical drawings of new build vessels
• Identify areas for improvements and modifications on electro/automation system and make methodical recommendations for efficient operation of the vessel
Requirements:
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Preferably 5 years of relevant work experience in Marine Electrical Industry.
• Hands on experience working onboard sea going vessels as ETO (Electrical-Technical Officers) for a minimum period of 2 years will be a definite asset • Possess good knowledge of electrical power distribution, maintenance and practical hands-on skills
• Proficient in troubleshooting & fault diagnosis skills related to electrical, instrumentation, automation & control and including air conditioning and ventilation system
• Able to read and understand Engineering Drawings (Electrical and pneumatic)
• Familiar with regulatory and legislative shipping industry environment • A team player and collaborate well with office technical team as well as shipboard team
• Able to communicate well and Fluency in English in both written and spoken
