Job Summary
The Tech-Shop, part of the Fugro Singapore Marine, provides support to business activities pertaining to the Marine Site Characterisation and Marine Asset Integrity.
The Tech-Shop Engineer is a technical role in a Tech-Shop environment. Primarily engaged in the testing, troubleshooting, servicing and maintaining of various electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment/systems based on a set of quality control processes and documents, to ensure fitness for use for projects. In addition, he/she may be involved in the mobilisation of such equipment/systems for projects and its installation onto vessels or required to occasionally work offshore as an Electronics Technician/Engineer, or as reasonably required by Management.
About the Role
- Awareness and compliance with QHSSE policies, standards and procedures, and statutory and regulatory requirements;
- In-depth knowledge of the designated equipment/system for which he/she is responsible;
- Testing, troubleshooting, servicing and maintaining of the designated equipment/system for which he/she is responsible;
- Inventories awareness of designated equipment/systems, associated accessories and spares to provide advice to Management on shortfalls;
- Initiate the purchase request of associated accessories and spares shortfall;
- Root-cause, problem and solution analysis, implements corrective/preventive actions;
- Development and maintenance of documents following QHSSE policies, standards and procedures;
- Preparation of equipment/systems/documentation he/she is responsible for to meet the project deadlines in a timely and accurate fashion;
- To learn and prepare systems under the responsibility of other Tech-Shop engineers, to meet the project deadline in a timely and accurate fashion;
- Liaise with other Tech-Shop engineers on interfacing between equipment/systems prepared for the same project but under a different assigned responsibility;
- Provide training and guidance to others on equipment/system for which he/she is responsible;
- Participate in before and after job discussions with the Project Manager and the Offshore Team;
- Suggest specific requirements for training or test equipment to the Management;
- To keep the direct Manager and the Logistics department advised of the freighting, transportation and equipment documentation requirements, in readiness for dispatch;
- Actively participate in Operations and QHSSE group meetings,
- Keep abreast of technology and industry developments and make suggestions on how processes, systems and techniques can be improved.
About you
- Diploma in Electronic or Computer Engineering or higher;
- Well-versed in verbal and written English language;
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision;
- Good Logical thought processes;
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
- Keen aptitude for technological advancement;
- Ability to digest technical information and manuals in a timely fashion;
- Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and coordination;
- Adaptive to all kinds of working environments.
