Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

Duties:

• Seeking a skilled PLC Engineer for a challenging role.
• Provide technical expertise and innovative solutions to support Production and ICEA teams.
• Regularly update stakeholders on the progress of PLC tasks aligned with site objectives.
• Maintain records of site shutdowns and production losses caused by PLC systems.
• Collaborate closely with Production teams to optimize PLC maintenance costs and enhance system performance.
• Develop comprehensive maintenance procedures for various plant equipment, including electrical, instruments, DCIS, F&G, ESD, metering, sampling, and analysis.
• Ensure compliance and certification of PLCs for safe use in hazardous areas.
• Offer maintenance support and troubleshoot PLC logic/hardware issues.
• Proactively manage PLC lifecycle to prevent obsolescence.
• Play a crucial role in emergency response, conduct feasibility studies, and ensure cybersecurity adherence in the OT environment.

Requirements:

• Min Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or any relevant field.
• Min 3 years of experience in PLC Siemens S7 maintenance / design in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Industry.

Job Description

• ICA (Instrumentation, Control and Automation) related design for process plant (water/wastewater plant, incineration plant, etc.), from concept to implementation, ensuring project is delivered on time, within specifications and meeting industrial standards. ICA designs adhere to relevant safety standards (such as SIL, IEC 61511) and cybersecurity protocols to mitigate operational risks. Collaborate with process team to optimize the processes through intelligent control strategies, adaptive algorithms, and data-driven insights.
• Review project specifications, technical proposal/design documentations from the ICA subcontractor/supplier and liaise with project consultant / client for the approval of technical documentations/drawings.
• Support ICA related procurement work, develop cost estimates for ICA products and ICA works, and prepare the schedule for ICA works.
• Project coordination, ensure project is on schedule and is running smoothly, including handling technical matters at site, managing ICA subcontractor/supplier and working on site with clients and other stakeholders.
• Supervise installation and testing and commissioning of ICA works.
• Other duties as assigned by the management.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in process plant electrical EPC work with Degree in Electrical , Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering or related Engineering Discipline. For Diploma holder, minimum 6 years of experience is required. For senior position, candidate must have at least 8 years of experience.
• Familiar with relevant code of practice and standards in Singapore
• Experience with Revit/AutoCAD Plant 3D/Bentley is preferred.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to take on responsibility and make effort to meet deadlines.
• Extensive hands-on experience in designing and implementing complex ICA systems in industrial environments.
• In-depth knowledge of control system architectures, such as PLC-based systems.
• Familiar with industry standards and protocols (e.g., OPC-UA, Modbus, HART, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Strong understanding of process control theory, PID tuning, and adaptive control strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues.
• Strong communication skills to guide technical discussions and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Good technical understanding of water, wastewater or incineration related control system.
• Relevant experience in ICA design and site work for water, wastewater treatment and incineration works.
• Highly motivated and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to work in Tuas area.

Software Requirements

- Strong experience in UI Automation using Java
- Proficiency in API Testing
- Familiarity with Rest Assured framework
- Knowledge of Playwright, SQL/Azure, and Unix
- Good to have experience in Python

What you will do:

Installs basic required system field devices and commissioning using standard configuration and

commissioning tools. Troubleshoots and resolves problems. Responds to basic warranty calls. Keeps

JCI, contractors, and the customer informed of job progress and issues as needed.

How you will do it:

• Responsible for attending to system breakdown calls and carry out scheduled preventive

maintenance.

• Coordinate and monitor work progress with the customer and relevant parties for information to

expedite installation and supervise sub-contractors work at the site.

• Check and ensure all installations conform to project specifications, and be able to manage

system applications, drafting, database generation and commissioning of the systems under your

care.

• Perform 24/7 standby duty for complaint and breakdown.

• Ensure safety procedures and conduct during service or repair.

What we look for:

• ITE/Diploma

• Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience handling preventative maintenance, repair, installation,

commissioning, and general servicing activities.

• Service experience in the fire protection field/BMS/Security systems required for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and work closely with Project Manager to oversee site matters and provide technical support such as interpret construction drawings
• Ensure all technical drawings conform to the latest BCA codes and regulations
• Supervise site progress and ensure timely delivery of contract works from subcontractors/suppliers
• Manage subcontractors/suppliers to perform their respective scope of works for smooth project execution
• Conduct regular site inspections and enforce in-house regulations
• Attend site meetings to assist the Project Manager with necessary preparatory works
• Liaise with relevant government agencies to obtain necessary site permits/clearances
• Any other ad-hoc duties as instructed by superiors

Job Qualifications / Requirements:

• Possess a recognised Degree or Diploma in Architecture / Civil / Structural / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Building Science, Building Management, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management and at least 3 years of relevant working experience of the building construction industry

or

• Degree in local universities in Architecture / Civil / Structural / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Building Science, Building Management, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management
• Strong knowledge in use of Autocad, BIM software such as Revit and microsoft projects
