Engineering Technician EIC
Location: Pioneer, Singapore
Reporting to: Site Engineering Manager
As the Engineer Technician, you will carry out maintenance, troubleshooting and/or improvement activities to the Electrical system, Instrumentation and Control (Automation) to ensure optimum uptime of the equipment and plant.
Main Responsibilities:
• Execute troubleshooting corrective and preventive maintenance work for related equipment in a timely, cost effective and safe manner and to minimize production down time.
- Instrumentation, transmitters / switches / detectors, control panels, PLCs and SCADA
- Electrical, earthing, motor, motor control centres, variable frequency drive
- Access and troubleshoot of PLC program logics
• Identify and prioritize the production criticality and equipment availability
• Work with engineer to setup maintenance plan (preventive and predictive) and vendor service agreement
• Identify, estimate and plan the resources (manpower, material and time) required for forthcoming / planned maintenance tasks • Work with engineer to carry out improvement and monitor performance of equipment for optimization of equipment functionality
• Liaise and coordinate with vendors/contractors for equipment maintenance and repairs
• Support and attend to daily ad hoc request with regards to maintenance and improvement works
• Keep track of equipment spares and work with maintenance planner to replenish the spares upon depletion
• Support to develop Preventive Maintenance SOP/Procedures and tasks to maintain plant assets.
• Attend to off-office hour call back by user to repair equipment breakdown
• Plan, organize and supervise work performed by in-house contractor and external contractor engaged for maintenance work.
• Learn safety policies and guide external contractors on site requirements
• As authorized permit to work applicant
• Good record keeping in all involved tasks relevant data in SAP
• Adherence and support EHS initiatives and compliance
• Maintain and support all site activities according to accreditation standards in the scope of the QMS [ISO 9001 & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)]
Academic Background
• NITEC/ITC/Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and/or Automotive background
Technical Skills
• Familiar with basic SAP Plant Maintenance function (module)
• With some experience with the Programme Logic Control (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system
• Good knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines. • Good coordination skills with contractors/vendors
• Able to interpret P&ID, electrical single line diagram, instrument hook up drawing, SCADA network drawing, instrument datasheet etc
• Able to organized and have good interpersonal skills
• Well verse in Microsoft office (e.g. Words and Excel)
Professional experience
• 3 to 10 years of experience in maintenance or projects work
