What Will Put You Ahead

As a Controls Support Engineer, you have a strong affinity with Operational Technology (OT) software like PLCs and PC-based controllers and the electromechanical components they control, such as conveyors, sorters, and shuttles.

As a Controls Support Engineer, you will analyze and assist in servicing baggage handling system controls software. You are responsible for helping the operation and maintenance team find and resolve system issues, researching solutions, and proposing changes to the system. You will have frequent contact with customers, internal organizations, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary customer contact, providing clear communication and ownership, and advising on actions to minimize downtime.
• Analyze and troubleshoot system issues systematically, developing, modifying, and maintaining PLC programs for baggage handling system control.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and monitoring of control systems, promptly responding to anomalies, alarms, and faults.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate control systems with other components, and evaluate and implement system upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, maintaining accurate records of PLC programs, configurations, and maintenance activities.
• Provide training and guidance to maintenance and operational staff, and be available for on-call duty for critical system failures outside regular working hours.
• Configure component-level devices, perform and document PLC/SCADA commissioning testing, and prepare relevant documentation such as checklists, test plans, and functional specifications.
• Lead project execution, onsite configuration, commissioning, and testing, monitoring quality of controls deliverables, and driving continuous improvement actions, including night work as required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation, Instrumentation, Manufacturing, or a related field of study.
• Preferably, you have a good understanding of IT service management practices (ITIL v3/v4).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in PLC programming and control systems within the baggage handling or airport industry.
• Experience with Siemens controls programming, software, and hardware.
• Proficiency in PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of OT software development and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of control system hardware, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, etc.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Experience dealing with software version control.
• Strong knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems.
• Working experience with the Siemens S7 series platform is a must.
• Experience in electrical controls hardware design and communication networks.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Assertive team player and proactive.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment and be on-call as needed.

As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision.

The role is based in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore.

Job Duties:

• Perform Calibration and Measurement of Dimension gauges and instruments as per WI using CMM, reference master, tester etc (on-site and in-house) with report and necessary administrative work
• Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment as schedule and assigned
• Ensure proer delivery of service to customer(s)
• Help manager to manage day-to-day calibration work in the labs reference to ISO17025 standard, eg. Quality/ Job Planning/ Job Assignment/ Customer Requirements etc
• Any other duties as assigned by Manager/ Section Head/ Senior staff

Job Requirements:

• Diploma/ Degree in Aerospace/ Precision or Mechanical Engineering
• 3 years or more experience in Calibration and Measurement of Dimension is preferred
• Working knowledge of laboratory safety
• Possesses a demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element’s business
• Can analyze and compiles testing data from the tests performed
• Possess strong computer skills

YOUR ROLE:

The Lead/Senior DevOps Engineer will maintain and support an on-premises cloud infrastructure and apply DevOps practices and solutions. The person will also implement cloud-related and DevOps technologies such as AWS/Puppet/Chef/Elk/Azure/Openstack. Senior DevOps Engineer will be expected to conduct workshops with client to identify their challenges, come up with transformation roadmap and deliver technical solutions while coaching delivery teams on DevOps best practices.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide customers with reliable solutions
• Configure, maintain, and support the infrastructure both cloud and on-premises.
• Install, maintain, and support the various CI/CD, security and testing related tools
• Create multi-stage CI/CD pipelines to enable faster and frequent releases to production; help delivery teams automate their build and deployment to public cloud
• In some cases, act as a system administrator on different operating systems
• Document, and share knowledge on developed DevSecOps solutions

WHO YOU ARE:

• Strong Unix / Linux / Bash knowledge
• Deep understanding of cloud computing, e.g. technologies, deployment, costing, HA/DR, etc
• You should be able to coach delivery teams on DevOps principles, e.g. CI/CD, test automation, release automation etc. and engineering practices, e.g. TDD, BDD
• Well versed with at least one of the public, private or hybrid cloud platforms such as Openstack, VMWare, OpenShift, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud (GCP)
• Hands-on experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code using various tools including but not limited to Terraform, Pulumi, etc
• Experience with developing and implementing processes to handle releases from development to operations while respecting internal rules, and offering solutions for rollback etc
• You have a good understanding of microservice and event-driven architectures and DevSecOps practices which support relatively complex distributed systems
• Strong RDBMS and NoSQL skill in deploying and fine-tuning such as MySQL, Oracle, Elasticsearch.
• Good understanding of monitoring and hands-on experience of setting up and configuring monitoring tools (e.g. ELK, Prometheus, Grafana and Splunk)
• Overall, 3 - 8 years of experience in platform automation, applying various DevOps principles
• At least 4 years of experience in people management and past experience mentoring engineers
