JOB PURPOSE:

The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing solutions encompassing both hardware and firmware for target applications identified by the Design Center.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The main design direction of the Design team is focused on machine learning and communications, with the goal of creating reference designs that allow Futures’ customers to implement their own systems at a second level.

By specializing in these areas, the Design Engineers can leverage their design experience and training to provide valuable support and add value to the customer's design process.

While the Design Engineers will not directly interface with all of Future's customers, the Technical Sales Manager (TSM) will take the lead in engaging with customers, while the Design Engineers will provide backend support.

Primary Functions

· Design, development, testing and support of firmware/embedded software applications for microcontroller.

Purpose and Scope

The C&S Designer plays a pivotal role in creating and managing 3D models of projects which is crucial to the successful delivery of building projects.

The System Engineering discipline understands the needs of the automotive customers and translates them into requirements for the other functional disciplines (e.g. electrical, mechanical, software etc.) for implementation. In the RFI/RFQ stage, the System Engineer takes the lead in providing the technical proposals of the product to the customers. The Project Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of projects and installation activities. He is responsible to ensure that designs and equipment are organized in a timely manner to ensure customer / end-user requirements are met. He shall also manage and control costs on the projects to maximize margins under his charge. • Capability to formulate test plans, deliver presentations on findings, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with verification methodologies and tools including simulators, waveform viewers, automated execution, simulation time optimization, and coverage analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of technical supervisors on site to ensure that all works comply fully with regulatory and client's requirements.
• Work closely with Professional Engineers, regulatory authorities and contractors to provide planning, design and supervision leadership not only to solve site problems, but also to ensure timely completion of the projects.
• Responsible for implementing and sustaining the site supervision quality & safety assurance system.
• Carry out supervision of structural & geotechnical works by identifying any non-conformity of contractor's works on site.
• Understand drawings & contract documents in carrying out the works.
• Implement the site supervision quality and safety assurance system.
• Carry out regular site checks on contractor & ensure compliance with health and work safety in accordance with MOM regulation.
• Attend site progress and technical meetings with the project team and Client to resolve site and technical issues.
• Ensure that proper site documentation for ongoing works, site meetings, safety records, method statements, shop drawings, as built submissions etc., are well managed.

Requirements:

• Possess relevant Civil/Structural Engineering degree from a recognized University and is a registered Resident Engineer with IES.
• Minimum 3 to 8 years of Resident Engineer experience in supervision of residential/commercial development with strong knowledge of bored piling, precast structures, structural steel and local construction practices.
• Min. 5 to 8 years’ site working experience in Singapore for civil engineering & building projects with experience in airport/ airbase project will be in advantage
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• AutoCad and BIM knowledge preferred.
• Good supervisory and leadership skills.
• Possess effective communication skills and able to interact with people at all levels.
