Overall Job Purpose

To independently handle the piping activities, prepare, manage, and produce the critical engineering deliverables for the assigned project (that may include short-term assignment to Construction, Commissioning, and Offshore) effectively and efficiently according to the specified technical requirements, timelines and within budget, and deal independently with and resolve all the issues of the project, and provide guidance to the assigned members.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepares piping fabrication specification, piping insulation specification, and flange management specification (bolt torquing and tensioning) by using the MODEC corporate specifications and modifying these to meet the project requirements.
• Prepares bill of materials for piping bulk items (like pipe, flanges, and fittings), valves, piping specialty items, gaskets, stud bolts and nuts, and pipe support materials.
• Provides piping weight inputs for weight control reports.
• Prepares data sheets for process-critical and non-critical piping specialty items, obtaining the process parameters required for the design and manufacturing of process-critical items.
• Enable to review supplier drawings/documents and share the relevant data with the engineering contractor to get it incorporated in piping layout design. And works closely with engineering contractors to resolve technical issues.
• Prepares equipment layout, piping routing layout, skid package interfaces, and tie-ins for topsides, reviews piping isometrics, and participates in 3D Model reviews.
• As part of hull marine activities, provides inputs for Conversion and repair specification, prepares to rip out plans, machinery arrangement layout, and piping arrangement guidance drawings for hull marine contractor to perform the work accordingly.
• Carries out the piping stress analysis of all critical lines using the project-specific data and environmental conditions at the fabrication yard, during transport, and at the operating location of the facility to satisfy the project and applicable code requirements.

- Coordinates with engineering contractor to implement flexibility analysis findings in selecting piping support regarding support type, loads on restraints, and special support requirements.

- Prepares data sheets and details for spring supports taking inputs from stress analysis reports.

- Carries out surge analysis for cargo offloading system, sea water lift pump system, and fire water system and reviews the contractor-prepared documents and piping arrangement layout drawings.

• Reviews the isometric of all critical lines to verify that the support locations and support type align with the flexibility analysis report and are adequate to withstand the expected loading conditions.
• Provides technical support and advice to construction yard and commissioning work at the site. Where necessary, provides off-site support and guidance.
• When assigned to the construction site, checks and verifies the piping supports are constructed and installed as per isometrics and support drawing details ensuring support functionality in operating condition and providing resolutions to piping material queries originating from the construction site.
• Supports the Lead Piping Engineer and assists in preparing lessons learned during the course of execution of the project for further processing through MIMS.
• Shares the knowledge and experience with team members and guides the engineers in carrying out the assigned task in right and efficiently.

He/she will perform process design, engineering and scale-up of in a Low-Carbon Technology Translational Testbed (LCT3) on Jurong Island leading up to a technology transfer. This role requires good understanding and knowledge of the underlying key process/chemical engineering and scientific principles of low carbon technologies and uses computer aided engineering tools such as simulators, process and plant engineering tools for process development and engineering. This individual thinks analytically to solve problems and improve existing methods and processes.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for providing scientific and technical direction and/or development, design, and scale up of carbon capture, utilisation and low carbon hydrogen technologies
• Responsible for developing new projects, including timelines, milestones, methodological approaches, expected results and necessary resources.
• Responsible for the executing or planning/directing of laboratory-based or pilot-based experiments to support process development, scale-up campaigns and process optimisation leading up to technology transfer
• Lead or support multi-disciplinary team of scientist and engineers through technical challenges and contribute to the successful completion of projects
• Supervise and mentor junior process development scientists and engineers

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical or other related engineering fields.
• Possess at least 10 years of experience in process development and engineering with good knowledge on process control and safety in the process or chemical industry
• Excellent working knowledge on various process technologies, scale-up & scale-down and process intensification methodologies or principles
• Has good working experience with relevant computer aided engineering tools including simulation (eg. Aspen Plus, AVEVA, Gproms etc.), and the use of detailed process models to support process design, scale-up and process optimisation during operations
• Experience in collaborating and has good appreciation with other related disciplines eg. electrical and instrumentation, automation, process safety etc.
• Ability to plan and/or execute experiments at laboratory and pilot scale (scale-up/scale-down) to support process development, troubleshooting and optimisation
• Working experience in a chemical production facility and familiarity with regulations, codes and industry best practices would be a bonus
• Working experience in process/plant engineering tools (eg. AutoCAD process/plant engineering, Aucotec Engineering Base, etc.) would be a bonus
• Possess technical leadership quality to lead team and/or supervise junior engineers
• Possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and organization skills
• Self-driven and meticulous individual who has the strong ability to multi-task and has good time management skills to deliver results under tight timelines
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for the timely documentation, presentation, and discussion of results in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, team-based environment

- Design and develop logistics systems, processes, and workflows.

- Create detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.

- Oversee the implementation of logistics projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.

2.⁠ ⁠Process Optimization

- Analyze current logistics operations to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.

- Develop and implement strategies to optimize transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes.

- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to enhance logistics performance.

3.⁠ ⁠Data Analysis and Reporting

- Collect and analyze data related to logistics operations and performance metrics.

- Generate reports to provide insights and support decision-making.

- Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).

4.⁠ ⁠Technical Support and Troubleshooting

- Provide technical expertise and support to logistics teams.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to logistics systems and processes.

- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure the smooth functioning of logistics technologies.

5.⁠ ⁠Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work closely with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to coordinate logistics activities.

- Communicate project updates and changes to stakeholders effectively.

- Foster strong relationships with all stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.

6.⁠ ⁠Compliance and Risk Management

- Ensure logistics operations comply with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.

- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.

- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance and risk management.

- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in logistics and supply chain technologies.

- Implement innovative solutions to enhance logistics operations.
