What the role is

The Waste Management Division (WMD) is responsible for the regulation of the waste collection industry, the Public Waste Collection scheme, general waste disposal facilities, the Extended Producer Responsibility and Mandatory Waste Reporting schemes. Through these programmes, WMD aims to achieve an efficient and sustainable waste-to-resource management system in Singapore. It also enforces against illegal dumping activities.

The Producer Responsibility Department (PRD) under WMD oversees the development, administration and regulation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Schemes for waste streams such as E-waste and packaging waste, as well as the Mandatory Packaging Reporting(MPR) framework. What you will be working on

You will be part of a dynamic team that is involved in the development and implementation of e-waste management strategies and initiatives, including those under the Zero Waste Masterplan. You will be required to take on a regulatory role to ensure industry and stakeholders’ compliance to the Resource Sustainability Act on e-waste management. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work on cross departmental initiatives and projects related to e-waste; and to play a vital role in achieving Singapore’s vision of becoming a Zero Waste Nation. Position

We are looking for Applications/Systems Programmer to join our Application Services department to help us implement DevOps. This a very hands-on technical role to drive continuous improvement initiatives on top of day-to-day BAU support. We want someone with fresh and relevant ideas who is passionate about learning new things and wants to develop themselves further.

As we are covering the bank’s global operations, you will work in rotational shifts** and also be occasionally doing on-call support*** during non-business hours. This will be an opportunity to have a better perspective of what can be further improved in production!

**On call support: This covers 7 consecutive days during non-business hours to manage escalated incidents and to work on planned changes, weekend included.

***Rotational shifts: Members in the team will rotate accordingly around 3 shifts (time will shift to an hour later during the daylight saving time period in the year).

· Morning: 7am-4pm

· Afternoon:2pm-11pm

· Evening: 5pm-2am

Main responsibilities

You will mainly be responsible for:

· Providing primary operational technical support and assist the functional support teams

· Improving complex operations (DRP, Migrations, Major maintenance etc.)

· Improving reliability and quality of our systems (automation, monitoring, alerting, security, RCA etc.)

· Reducing time-to-market by implementing CICD pipelines where possible

· Managing technical issues, escalations and ensuring good level of delivery

· Maintain, improve and standardize existing workflow processes and framework

· Promoting knowledge sharing within the organization (trainings, documentations etc.)

· Bridging the gap between Dev and Ops

· Maintain programmable code outlined in technical instructions and specifications for operating systems.

Qualifications and Profile

At least a Bachelor’s degree in any of these faculties:

· Computer Science

· Information Technology

· Programming & Systems Analysis

· Science (Computer Studies)

Functional

· Experience in a banking environment in a plus.

Technical

· Preferred

· Minimum 3 years of experience with UNIX environments

· Minimum 3 years of experience in scripting languages such as Python, Powershell

· Minimum 2 years of hands on experience in any of these tools and technologies such as Ansible, Gitlab, Azure Devops, Docker, Kubernetes

· Experience with task schedulers such as Control-M

· Good understanding of IT ecosystems and application architectures

· Knowledge about

- CICD pipelines, ITIL practices, Agile practices, Lean

- Observability tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, AppDynamics or Dynatrace is a plus

Job Description

• Work together with the Operations Nerve Centre (ONC) team for the development of Building Management System (BMS) control logic for cooling systems, BMS user interface, alarm system, user manual and BMS programming
• Participate monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving the BMS related issues
• Collaborate with ONC data science team for data gathering and data analyses of district cooling plants and retail cooling plants
• Develop apps for the design of a District Cooling System and for the data analysis of chiller system (to produce energy audit report)
• Participate in teamwork for innovation initiatives
• Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested by your immediate supervisor / the head of department from time to time

Job Responsibilities:

1. Perform contamination tests on products according to customer requirement.
2. Ensure the assigned lab test correlations with customer to be certified/ re-certified.
3. Perform assigned projects by management and support in cleanliness improvement action.
4. Ensure proper control, maintenance and updating of Lab documentation system.
5. Ensure all test instruments in good condition with regularly preventive maintenance and calibration.
6. Assist in liaison with customers and suppliers on analytical results.

Job Requirement:

• Diploma with 2 years experience in related field or degree in chemistry / chemical engineering
• Familiar with lab test equipments (SEM-EDX,GCMS, IC, FTIR & LPC )
