Job Description

• Assist Project Manager to oversee, coordinate & execute assigned projects.
• Perform leadership & ownership to coordination & execution projects. Ensure projects complete and deliver it on scope, on schedule & on quality.
• Perform project schedule, planning, material requisition, cost monitoring and documentation submission & control.
• Coordinate with the internal design team & external customers on project document & drawings submission, amendments, re-submission & approval.
• Update & backup project documentation, drawings, reports & procedures (SOP, WI, Lesson Learned, etc.)
• Participate projects progress meeting and update weekly status, monitor contracts completion and submit weekly reports to PM & customers.
• Work closely with internal team (production, logistic, QC, service etc.) on project schedule and deliveries, FAT, SAT, and modification work.
• Co-ordinate with customers to support technical matters of products and systems installation on site.
• Attend site meetings, site surveys and switch room measurement etc. site activities.
• Liaise with customers on factory inspection, deliveries, installation and on-site testing.
• Work together with PM & team members to attend & service customers’ complaints, feedbacks and provide solution for project change requirement.
• Participate in product demonstrations, testing and commissioning if required.
• Any other duties when assigned by management.

Job Requirements

• Diploma / Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, or related industrial engineering field.
• 2 - 4 years’ experience in industrial engineering project management, especially in electrical engineering.
• Some hands-on experience of electrical SWBD and system assembly & installation.
• Familiar with local codes, regulations and procedures.
• IT skills (MS Office). AutoCAD preferred.
• Good communication and people relation skills.
• Leadership, ownership, team player, self-motivated.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of maintenance technicians and general workers
• Ensure the readiness of a variety of equipment such as pumps, tools and heavy vehicles for immediate use and deployment at all times
• Maintain an adequate stock of equipment and spare parts to minimize downtime
• Oversee the preparation of the equipment for outgoing project and ensure the returned equipment from project site are in good condition

• Ensure all equipment possess valid licenses and / or inspected by relevant authorities

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake independently the commissioning, installation, maintenance and repair/overhaul of MTU
  products and its associated equipment at MTU workshop or at site in accordance with MTU manuals and/or specific given instructions.
• Capable in resolving the technical matters and completing the services according to the works order and to the acceptance of the Customers and Supervisors, thereafter, provide the service/investigation reports where applicable.

Key Accountabilities:

We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer with at least 4 years’ experience in geotechnical design, analysis and writing technical proposals. The Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer should also be proficient in the use of Plaxis 2D and 3D, as well as in their knowledge of soil mechanics.

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Business Development Team to provide design support for tenders. You will be expected to review tender specifications, requirements and draft the technical proposals. Likewise, you will be working closely with the Operations team to perform design-related coordination work, analysing geotechnical issues at project sites, and preparing detailed drawings for the site team. Finally, you will be expected to guide and train junior engineers.

To be successful as a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer, you should be independent, demonstrate strong analytical thinking and be able to have prompt, open and direct communications with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project expectations. A day in the life of Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer

Design support for tenders:

• Review and summarize soil condition reports, tender specifications and requirements.
• Identify and summarise geotechnical problems and technical risk.
• Analyse geotechnical problems and draft technical proposal.

Design-related coordination work for ongoing projects:

• Perform analysis and design in accordance with current legislation, standards and codes of practice
• Guide and train junior engineers
• Prepare detailed construction drawings with the assistance of draughtsperson.
• Conduct regular site visits to integrate design concept and actual ground conditions.
• Quality Control (QC) review and verification between design assumptions and actual site conditions.
• Carry out geotechnical analysis and design using tools such as Slope/W and Plaxis as well as Keller’s in-house software.
• Conduct back analysis and research for future improvement based on actual performance and as-built data.
• Prepare technical proposal for remedial work during construction when required.
• Liaise with clients/consultants/ sub-contractors on technical related issues.
