Role Overview

Backend Engineer is one of the key roles in the Coupang Play product organization. This role works closely with product designer, product manager, mobile, and quality engineering team to collaboratively produce awesome user experience. Experience in high availability distributed systems is essential, this role will design and develop the system that serves million customers every day.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain highly available, scalable, secure and cost-efficient backend systems
• Design micro-services based systems and architectures that work at scale
• Write modular, testable, and reusable code and create extensible APIs with rigorous documentation
• Optimize our application for maximum speed & performance
• Formulate scalable and durable technical solutions that address our product requirements
• Occasionally work on front-end code with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript if necessary
• Mentor junior teammates to help them grow and develop their skills

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in server applications and distributed systems engineering

Android Engineers play a key role in the Coupang Play product organization. From contributing to product development on the Android Platform to understanding our customer experience, this role is central for the development of our Android app.

What You Will Do

• Support entire application lifecycle (concept, design, develop, test, release)

• Develop technical documentation

• Responsible for the physical design tasks from the Netlist to the GDSII, including P&R, formal verification, static timing analysis, physical verification, power analysis, design for reliability and tape out.
• Liaise with the front-end design team to complete the chip floorplan, clock architecture, and power plan.
• Study the physical design methodology of advanced process nodes and builds an automatic physical design platform.

Requirements:

• Degree or above in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of hands-on project in digital backend design experience.
• Familiar with TCL, Perl, or Python script development with EDA tool design.
