RESPONSIBILITIES

The role holder will be responsible for Treasury function within MINDS, overseeing some Accounts Payable functions and supporting Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis in providing a reliable and responsive Financial Planning and Analysis function across the Organisation to facilitate effective decision making.The role holder will be responsible for the provision of timely, accurate, relevant management information to all levels of management and regularly reviewing this information. This will include provision of monthly reports, critical review and interpretation of results and value-add analysis.

Financial Planning and Forecast:

• Support Senior Manager FP&A in:
  • • budget planning, forecast and review exercise across MINDS, including annual budget & workplan and mid-year review
  • Ensure adequacy, timeliness and accuracy of periodic Management reports
  • Participate in business cases, review assumption and financial calculations for proposals
  • costing and development of pricing models

Accounts Payable:

• Oversee all corporate card reporting and reconciliation process
• Oversee all petty cash claims and reconciliation process
• Provide cover for payment processing

Treasury:

• Coordinate surplus fund management in accordance to investment mandate
• Prepare cash flow analysis and forecast to facilitate operations and maximise use of surplus fund
• Liaise with banks for banking mandate

Other duties:

• Preparation of resolutions and forms for banks
• Drive system and process improvement
• Ah-hoc verification works

Degree in accountancy, ACCA or equivalent.

• Singaporean or Singapore PR only
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Independent worker with a keen eye for details.
• Strong in Excel and Experience in Oracle NetSuite is advantageous.
• Chartered Accountant or equivalent is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Responsible for full spectrum of accounting functions including subsidiaries.
• Perform month-end closing activities which include general ledger, posting of journals, inventories count reconciliation, balance sheet schedule and fixed assets schedule.
• Assist in GST/VAT report submission and bank reconciliation.
• Prepare and handle monthly reporting pack for group submission.
• Preparation of audit schedules and liaison with external auditors.
• Oversee and provide guidance to accounting team in operational financial matters.
• Participate in system enhancements / implementations.
• Support the necessary overseas expansion finance requirement, if needed
• Involve in ad hoc duties as and when assigned

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Finance/Accounting or relevant Professional Accounting Qualification.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in this role.
• Experience in using Microsoft Business Central system/ NAVISION is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot table, VLOOKUP, Macros is an advantage).
• Experience with audit background and/or F&B and handling overseas accounts is an advantage.
• Ability to work with people in different levels of the organization.
• Meticulous and keen eye for details; strong financial analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Committed, confident personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Personnel to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and assisting with budget management. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of our organization. He/She will play a crucial part in maintaining our robust accounting practices and ensuring the smooth running of our finance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management reporting and statutory compliance.
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and variances.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial procedures and controls
• Reconcile bank statements
• Handle monthly bank reconciliation within the Group
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation
• Handle and process payments.
• Prepare and submit Quarterly GST submissions.
• Reconcile Banks statement of accounts.

• Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations of Singapore office, working closely with the Finance Manager.
• Supervise and control activities of Accounting Shared Service Centre (“SSC”) – month-end and year-end closing process, accounts payable/receivable, general ledgers, expenditures variance analysis, intercompany account reconciliations
• Assist in analyses monthly financial results to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Business partner with other line of businesses (“LOBs”)/departments on Singapore related matters. Also, to act as the key point of contact between LOBs and SSC.
• Assist in the cash management, treasury function and preparation of cash flow forecasts. Custodian of petty cash and cheque book.
• Prepare & check incentive schedules for Moving and Relocation.
• Ensure Balance sheet records are up to date and accurate by conducting review and analysis on monthly basis.
• Take charge of annual physical stock-taking, inventory valuation and fixed assets accounting activity
• Review/prepare schedules and documents as required for statutory audit, coordinate and complete annual audits and taxes filing.
• Liaise with auditors, company secretary, tax consultants, bankers and other professionals regarding corporate regulations, tax, and banking matters to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Regularly review and enhance accounting workflow, accounting policies & procedures and internal control. Provide support to system upgrade.
• Assist in annual budget preparation by working closely with other LOBs. Monitor budget that has been set whilst continuously review and propose cost savings.
• Assist in South Asia Cluster and Singapore routine reporting, ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.

Education, Qualifications and Work Experience

• A Professional Accounting Qualification e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years full set accounting/financial reporting experience/shared-function experience
• Knowledge of financial reporting requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and cash application.

• Reconcile AR balances with customer statements and resolve discrepancies.

• Maintain contra accounts, ensuring proper classification and reporting.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to AR and contra accounts.

• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address client inquiries and issues.

• Assist in the development and implementation of AR policies and procedures.

• Monitor credit limits and perform credit assessments on new customers.

• Prepare and maintain aged receivables reports and analysis.

• Support the year-end audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting.

• Strong understanding of contra accounts and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance personnel.

You will be in charge of the finance functions of Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets, and supervise a team who are supporting these functions.

You will support and work closely with departments on appropriate cost recovery strategies for shared facilities/services and centralised fixed assets, and will participate in new initiatives/projects.

You are responsible for reviewing and streamlining work processes for day-to-day operations and will be involved in the annual budgeting and forecasting exercise. You will also oversee the full set of accounts of a dormant subsidiary, prepare its financial and management reports, and appropriate returns.

You will report to Senior Manager, Finance Operations and will also assist in ad-hoc tasks as assigned by Deputy Director and/or CFO.

Job requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or equivalent

· Minimum 4 years of relevant experience

· Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills

· Knowledge in SAP will be an advantage

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
