About the role

Reporting to the Regional Credit Manager, this intern will be part of a larger team within the Asia Pacific Finance department, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to minimise company financial risk and assist in enforcing existing policies and procedures. This 6-month full-time internship commences December 2024/January 2025.

What you will be doing

• Ensure monthly Credit Management Reporting is submitted to Regional Management/HQ on timely basis
• Assist the Regional Credit Management team to request and pursue payment on delinquent/Close monitoring accounts via communication with account holder
• Review and update account status according to established guidelines
• Maintains log of payment promises and pertinent account details; schedules follow-up communication with account holder
• Responsible for handling the collection activity for delinquent accounts and enforcing collection policies & procedures
• Follow up with internal customers & external customers to ensure overdue amounts are paid promptly
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to non-payment of invoices
• Prepare and send monthly statements of account & reminder letter to customers/internal customers
• Report and alert any exceptional and problematic customers and apply appropriate actions to minimize bad debt
• Liaise closely with Internal External customers, proactively build and foster strong relationships

•Support the management of the organization’s insurance portfolio, including procurement and management of insurance policies.

•Ensure all claims are properly documented, and follow-ups with insurers are conducted in a timely manner.
•Prepare risk management reports, including risk exposure, insurance coverage, and claims performance for senior management.
•Conduct internal audits of risk management processes and insurance policies to ensure full statutory compliance.

Risk Assessment and Management
•Collaborate with business units to identify potential risks, conduct comprehensive risk assessments and documentation of risks across the organization
•Support the development of risk mitigation strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
•Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement appropriate insurance solutions to cover identified risks.
•Perform risk review of contracts, new business scope and major projects.
•Support the development and revision of risk management policies and procedures to ensure alignment with industry regulations and regulatory requirements.

Training and Awareness

Job Requirements

Reporting to the Regional Business Finance Manager, this role will provide meaningful analysis and spell out the business impact to the Asia Pacific Regional Management team, work closely with the Business Intelligence and Operational Control team, and coordinate with different functions to improve existing processes.
