Standard Chartered has announced ambitious targets to reach net-zero carbon emissions from its financed activity by 2050, including interim 2030 targets for the most carbon-intensive sectors. The Bank has also announced plans to mobilise USD300 billion in green and transition finance by 2030.
The market has seen a significant proliferation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data, reflecting a growing focus on sustainability in business decision-making. The need for improved climate data, biodiversity information, and social metrics etc. is paramount for informed business strategies. Additionally, the landscape is rapidly evolving with increasing regulatory and voluntary sustainability reporting requirements, highlighting the need for expertise in ESG data analysis and compliance.
We are seeking a passionate and innovative UX Designer to join our team, focusing on projects supporting sustainability and sustainable finance. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong experience in building products from scratch with passion to make an impact. The UX Designer will be instrumental in creating user-centered designs that not only deliver exceptional user experiences and also making an impact in our sustainability operationalisation agenda including sustainability assessment, monitoring and simulation to achieve Net Zero, reduce greenwashing and increase sustainable finance revenue.
Business
· Conduct thorough research to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points related to ESG initiatives. Analyse data and feedback to inform design decisions.
· Design and implement user-centric solutions for sustainable projects, ensuring a balance between user needs and our environmental objectives.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and experience.
· Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback to enhance usability and sustainability aspects of the product.
· Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
· Develop prototypes that clearly illustrate the function and look.
· Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to validate design concepts and gather user feedback. Iterate on designs based on test results and stakeholder inputs
· Create design documentation, including design specifications, style guides, and design system components. Maintain consistency and coherence across digital platforms.
· Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive-level stakeholders.
· Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards focused on sustainability.
· Stay up-to-date with the latest UX trends, techniques, and technologies, especially those related to sustainable design practices.

Our Ideal Candidate
· Track record of managing multiple projects with a degree of autonomy.
· Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or a related field.
· 3 + Years of Proven UX design experience, preferably in a start-up environment, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
· Experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and process flows.
· Proficiency in sigma design or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
· Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
· Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
· Up to date with the latest UX trends, techniques, and technologies.
· Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
· Strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
· Knowledge and experience in sustainable design practices are highly advantageous.
