Risk & BCP Analyst (Corporate Real Estate)

Business Function

The Corporate Real Estate team supports real estate services for one of Singapore largest bank across the region including portfolio management, lease management, fit-out works, maintenance works. This role will support the real estate team's Operational Risk and Business Continuity Management.

Responsibilities

Risk, Compliance & Control

• Consolidate inputs from the stakeholders, prepares and submits Risk reports as required by different departments.
• Work with stakeholders to perform review of risk events, root cause analysis and ensures measures are implemented to mitigate risk and impact.
• Assist in preparation of Risk Report with analysis and trending to update management.
• Deliver Risk & Control related initiatives as required.
• Identify trends and any systemic issues/emerging risk trends, and to highlight key risk insights and actionable areas requiring focus in managing risk & control across units and locations
• Assists in audit checks, co-ordinate Audit exercise and inputs into system.
• Co-ordinate with stakeholders to maintain and update the real estate team's Operation Handbook and SOP document. Assist in the communication of Policy/Standards/Guides roll-out, Operation Handbook/SOP updates and deviation management of approved processes,
• Conduct risk & control training to raise staff risk awareness.
• Maintain and update Risk & Control share point.

Business Continuity Management

• Co-ordinate with stakeholders in reviewing the Unit’s Business Continuity Plans; prepares and submits the related reports in line with the unit’s recovery strategy.
• Plan and deliver the required Unit BCP related exercises and reports.
• Proactively identify gaps in the BCP plans, emerging threats and work with the relevant parties to ensure that the unit BCP plan addresses the prevailing threats and effectively address the risk of business interruption.
• Co-ordinate and participate in the BCP/Pandemic/Cyber Threat/Tabletop simulation exercises with backup teams and Group Business Continuity Management team.

Unit Workplace Safety & Health

• Cascade, reports and update on Unit’s workplace safety and health issues.
• Co-ordinate with the relevant parties to conduct risk assessment, risk control and safe work procedures for unit where required.
• Conduct annual unit workplace safety and health checks and RCSA for workplace safety and health.

Requirements

• Has a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Minimum 1-2 years relevant working experience and preferably with an understanding in Real Estate Management, Leasing, Project Management and Facility Management framework.
• Meticulous and consistently able to gate-keep and house-keep information in an organized manner at all times
• Proficient in Microsoft software eg: excel/powerpoint/etc, data manipulation and analysis.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to problem solve, with analytical skills and think out-of-the-box to proactively identify key risk issues and trending.
• Independent self-starter with ability to multi-task and deliver works timely.

OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking an Analyst or Associate to join our growing Hotels & Hospitality platform with a primary focus on hotel and resort consulting and asset management projects in Southeast Asia. The role will be based in Singapore and will report directly to our Senior Vice President of Advisory & Asset Management.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate, highly motivated about adding value and delivering superior results to the team. As a member of JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality team, you will support the team in conducting financial modelling, preparing detailed feasibility and valuation reports, support asset management and operator selection assignment and assisting with pitch documents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct financial modelling, primarily focusing on discounted cash flow analysis, sales comparable analysis, etc;
• Review client / operator’s cash flow projections and support with benchmarking analyses;
• Assist with monthly operational and financial review of our managed properties;
• Assist in preparing feasibility and valuation reports for clients;
• Assist with due diligence of relevant documents (review of legal documents, title, management contracts, etc.);
• Research and analyse business, tourism and hotel market fundamentals;
• Interpret investment market trends and insights;
• Maintain data integrity of research databases;
• Assist with pitch documents and any other duties that management may reasonably require.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

• Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline such as business, hospitality, finance and/or real estate;
• Proven academic track record with strong performance in analytical and financial courses;
• Strong critical thinking skills;
• Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail essential;
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills;
• Proficiency in English and a second language (Mandarin preferred);

They are seeking a Operations & Performance Analyst to monitor, analyze, advice on the performance of their shipping digital platform.

ROLE

Vessel routing and voyage optimization

• Collect all necessary data 72h- 24h before vessels departure (Tracking, SatComs, vessels Characteristics and Ops Constraints) in order to calculate the best routes and speeds to weather routing software
• Provide meteorological and oceanographical forecasts and observations data to vessels
• Advice captains for their Passage Planning, before departure and during Ocean crossing:
• Assist captain to connect on website, and support for to set up calculation
• Input parameters according to captains wishes, when needed
• Monitor vessels safety when in Storms/ Tropical depressions
• Compare vessels routes in similar conditions
• Take care of Fuel Consumption during voyages, and take contact with captains to optimize their voyage budget
• Optimize all vessels routes, using the weather routing software
• Take into account vessels observations, in order to be able to comment about Metocean forecasts
• Analyze forecasts and observations data/ measures, in order to establish post-voyage reports – Argue for claim management, when necessary
• Contribute to software feedback and operational tasks, in order to improve processes

Vessel performance monitoring

Monitor Vessel Performance: Oversee the performance of operational vessels and proactively provide alerts and guidance to clients (shipowners or charterers) in accordance with company guidelines and procedures : sensors deficiencies, fuel overconsumption, sub optimal activities

Data Collection and model calibration: organize the collection of ships characteristics and historical data in order to calibrate performance models with the assistance of data scientists if needed.

Client Communication: Inform clients about missing/late data, the quality of collected data, and any sensor failures to improve the overall dataset and ship models.

Performance Analysis: Analyze real-time, periodic, and post-voyage performance, providing technical feedback to clients (ship owners or charterers) to optimize the vessel's environmental and economic performance.

Coordinate Corrective Actions: Implement corrective actions for incorrect data, whether the issue is hardware or software-related.

Reporting: Maintain up-to-date reports on the state of vessel performance data.

Professional Competencies

Followings are required :

At sea experience :

• Officer of the Watch on OSV vessels including Passage Planning preparations
• 2 years of offshore experience within a maritime company or major operator
• Able to monitor and advice on the performance of an OSV
• Practical use of weather routing software or services
• Rough seas navigation feedback

Preferred experience:-

• On site management/ technical support for Oil & Gas compagnies
• Experience within a vessels Weather Routing Center/ Ops Monitoring Center
• Officer on following vessels types: gas-carrier or tanker, liner like containers-carrier, bulk-carrier, passengers vessel
• Officer in various maritime compagnies, sailing experience, Officer of watch or Chief Mate
• Experience as Chief Mate or second engineer
• Polar navigation
• Any meteorology and/ or oceanography theorical studies certified degree

IT:

Practical use of sea Keeping software

Practical use of ops software, in order to test and comment new IT Products and functionalities

Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and JIRA

Experience with data vizualisation tools

You should be:-

• Ability for listening and taking into account with strictness all captains requirements, in order to monitor a fleet of tenths of vessels at sea, within contracts
• Act autonomously to initiate direct contact with captains at sea by satellite phone when needed: over-speeding vessels, route deviations, fuel monitoring
• Self-control to maintain excellent relationships, in spite of stress of severe sea conditions to be encountered
• Full and impartial Reporting of any critical events/ difficult verbal relationships with vessels if any
