Job Responsibilities:
1. Accounts & Financial Reporting
- Review accounting transactions, manage full set of accounts (AP/AR, General Ledger, Journals Schedules, Fixed Assets, Bank Reconciliation, etc.) and prepare monthly management reports (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, account schedules, etc.)
- Take ownership for the month-end and year-end closing and ensure all financial documentation is accurate and readily available, assist with annual audit preparations, attend to and resolve audit queries, account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance
2. Finance Management
- Assist Finance Manager to monitor funding and cash flow requirements to ensure operational efficiency and achievement of key outcomes
3. Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist Finance Manager in collaborating with other departments on annual revenue projections, forecasting expenditures, and developing and monitoring budgets including projects
- Conduct regular review and detailed analyses of budgets, comparing actual performance against budget/target to identify variances, trends, and potential areas of concern
4. Taxation
- Monitor compliance with all tax regulations, and ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns (including income tax, GST, and other relevant taxes)
- Act as the point of contact for tax authorities in handling inquiries and audits related to tax matters
5. Internal Controls
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of internal controls in response to changes in the business environment, regulatory changes, or operational adjustments
- Participate in the company’s risk management process, identifying financial risks and implementing control measures to mitigate these risks
6. Accounting System
- Financial system management and subject matter expert, including conducting user training, resolving system issues, work with vendors on system enhancement as and when needed
- Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs and procedures
7. Mentoring
- Supervise and guide accounts staff on the day-to-day financial operations including revenue, invoices, AR, AP, etc.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of accounts staff, offering constructive feedback and setting developmental goals
8. Ad hoc duties
- Perform other accounting duties and support accounts staff as required or assigned
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Job Requirements:
- Proficient with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (preferable)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced)
- Highly detail-oriented and organised
- Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
Education, Experience & Training
- Degree in Accountancy / ACCA
- At least 5 years’ experience in the job scope with at least 3 years in full set of accounts
- Work experience in food manufacturing industry preferable
- Highly numerate, digital/system fluent, strong attention to detail
- Highly motivated individual with a strong sense of urgency
