World Central Kitchen is seeking a highly skilled chef, and innovative Manager to lead Culinary Operations on the ground to ensure the service of nourishing, comforting meals to disaster-affected communities. Key Responsibilities:

Activation Management

• Respond within four (4) hours notice to a disaster area to act as Culinary Manager, managing relief operations on the ground, or in rare cases, remotely.
• Lead and manage field teams specializing in culinary operations. Ensure strategic and streamlined implementation of relief activities on the ground, operationalizing WCK’s North Star values.

• Direct and oversee multiple modalities of rapid food production, across many kitchens in low-resource, austere environments. 
• Create or advise on rotating menus; prepare order lists informed by local culinary partners, soliciting regular feedback from field teams and guaranteeing that all meals are culturally aligned and served with dignity and respect.
• Manage and liaise with the procurement and logistics team to predict future production capacity and timelines; maintaining daily pull lists, tight inventory, and procurement of fresh, high quality ingredients. 
• Guide and teach WCK culinary teams and vendor partners (restaurants, catering companies, food trucks etc) to adhere to high standards of food safety, temperature, quality, hygiene, and scalability. Ensure all meals are prepared in a timely manner to be ready for distribution teams. 

Budgeting and Logistics

• Work with the finance team and Response Director to share cost projections for culinary operations, focusing on meal production and logistical needs.
• Collaborate with the procurement and logistics team to source materials and supplies efficiently and ensure timely delivery to affected areas.

Personnel Management and Training

• Recruit, train, and motivate diverse culinary teams on activation, ensuring a high-performance culture aligned with WCK’s North Star. 
• Provide leadership, mentorship, training and support to team members, promoting a culture of urgency, accountability, adaptability and continuous learning within the team.
• Address personnel issues on activations in real time, and provide regular performance feedback on Corps members. 
• Support the recruitment of Corps members, and manage personnel effectively on the ground to foster growth and ensure a diverse pipeline of activation leadership.

The Chef de Partie is responsible for the supervision of the assigned kitchen’s operation to achieve and maintain the highest standards of food quality preparation and guest satisfaction. 

Primary Responsibilities

Food quality

• Responsible for monitoring food quality and consistency to ensure that the food presented to our guest is of the highest quality standards.
• Supervises and monitors kitchen operations, works with yield testing, product identification and that the proper rotation and labelling is followed accordingly to written guidelines for food produce specifications.
• Through daily spot checks, monitors all food items being ordered by the kitchen and ensures all items are utilised completely to avoid wastage.

• To be responsible for personal hygiene and grooming in accordance to Raffles Hotel Singapore standards, National Environmental Agency standards and HACCP guidelines.
• Enforces the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in kitchens. Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients

• Cook food in a timely manner
• Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
• Inform wait staff about daily specials
• Ensure appealing plate presentation
• Supervis Cooks and assist as needed
• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
• Monitor food stock and place orders
• Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area able to cook local Chinese food

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g grillers and pasta makers) Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques

Job Scope:

• Oversee all purchasing activities across the company, including retail, food service, and branded distribution items.
• Optimize inventory management processes to minimize costs and boost organizational productivity.
• Curate a product mix that supports company's growth in food service and retail, enhancing competitiveness in the market.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying and onboarding new vendors.
• Review procurement operations to identify opportunities for improving product quality and delivery timelines.
• Perform cost analysis and establish performance benchmarks for continuous improvement.
• Develop risk management strategies to address potential product shortages and mitigate losses.
• Lead and manage the purchasing team, delegating tasks to departments as needed.
• Collaborate with the legal department to ensure contracts and agreements are favorable and align with company objectives.

Requirements:

• At least 8–10 years in procurement, ideally in FMCG or food sourcing (meat/dairy experience preferred).
• Import knowledge is advantageous.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to drive cost savings initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in SAP will be an added advantage.
