Join our Regulatory Affairs team at APACMed, where you'll be part of a dynamic team shaping regulatory policies and advocacy across APAC.

Who we’re looking for - We are seeking a full-time Regulatory Affairs Associate (preferably an entry-level candidate) who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects with precision. This role provides an excellent opportunity to grow professionally within the MedTech ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities -

• Regulatory Intelligence: monitor regulatory developments across APAC, analyze findings, and compile insights for the secretariat and members.
• Administrative & Committee Management: support the Regulatory Affairs (RA) Committee and related working groups by managing meeting logistics, taking minutes, tracking action items, and coordinating follow-up communications.
• Project Management & Operational Support: provide project management for Regulatory Affairs initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met and documentation is meticulously maintained. This includes setting clear objectives, tracking progress, and proactively managing tasks to support successful project outcomes.
• Event Coordination: organize and support internal and external RA events, such as contacting regulators, coordinating briefing calls, managing agenda and logistics, and handling post-event communications (e.g., LinkedIn posts, and event summaries).
• Research & Content Development: conduct desktop research and contribute to written materials such as reports, articles, and communications to support APACMed’s regulatory affairs initiatives.
• Other Duties: Any additional tasks assigned to support the regulatory affairs team.

What we’re looking for -

• Educational Background: bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biotech, Pharma, or a related field. Fresh graduates are welcome.
• Project Management Skills: highly organized with a proven ability to manage multiple projects. Meticulous attention to detail is essential.
• Tech Savvy: proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Independent & Team-Oriented: able to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Excellent Communication Skills: strong written and spoken English, with experience in writing and creating professional documentation.
• Proactive & Organized: demonstrated efficiency, independence, and attention to detail in previous roles or academic projects.
• Relevant Experience: prior experience in regulatory affairs or advocacy-related extracurricular activities is a plus.

Job Description

As Project Manager, Government Affairs, the candidate will advance and achieve APACMed’s policy objectives in Asia Pacific by developing and executing advocacy initiatives and providing ongoing analysis of country policy updates on localisation, ESG, and related topics.

Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the candidate will serve as project lead for selected Government Affairs workstreams in Asia Pacific markets. This position reports to Head, Government Affairs.

Responsibilities:

Committee Agenda and Workstream Leadership:

• Support the Govt Affairs committee’s agenda and lead designated workstreams under the committee’s purview.
• Work with the Head of Govt Affairs to develop comprehensive project scopes, define objectives and strategize plans for effective execution.

Advocacy and Policy Development:

• Support advocacy related to local and international regulations affecting the medical devices and diagnostics industry in Asia Pacific markets.
• Develop well-informed policy options for consideration by APACMed members.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and feedback on proposed policies.

Relationship Building:

• Foster and maintain key relationships with internal association members, policymakers, embassies, chambers of commerce, local industry associations, NGOs, policy advisors, WHO, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with these stakeholders to align interests and support APACMed priorities.

Resource Material Development:

• Assist in drafting policy advocacy communications, webinars, press releases, and white papers.
• Ensure that materials are clear, concise, and aligned with the organization's messaging and goals.

Event Organization:

• Plan and execute workshops, educational events, and engagements on priority policy topics.
• Manage all aspects of event organization, including selecting discussion topics, securing speakers, managing sponsors, handling logistics, and developing marketing collaterals.
• Create post-event reports that highlight recommendations and key takeaways for continuous improvement.

Industry Trends Monitoring:

• Stay updated on key industry trends and emerging issues in the medical devices and diagnostics sector.
• Conduct primary and secondary research to gather relevant data and insights.
• Analyze policy issues and assess their potential impact on the industry.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Excellent analytical, organisational and negotiation skills
• Strong ability to synthesis, interpret and present data and insights for different audiences
• Strong project management skills
• Outstanding oral, written and presentation skills
• Working knowledge of healthcare and/or medical technology industry

Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of professional experience in a field related to government policy/advocacy or healthcare policy, public health, ESG.
• Advanced degree in public policy, public health, health economics, law or other relevant discipline required
• Experience in a regional role in Asia Pacific and experience in the medical technology industry is advantageous

The role encompasses fostering collaborations with diverse stakeholders to drive projects in alignment with the association's strategic agenda. The position demands a profound understanding of the healthcare landscape, the intersection of technology, and navigating the intricate relationship between technology and healthcare, identifying opportunities and challenges for policy considerations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Committee Agenda and Workstreams:

· Support the Working group’s agenda and lead designated workstreams under the committee's purview.

· Develop comprehensive project scopes, define objectives, and strategize plans for effective execution.

Stakeholder Coordination:

· Collaborate with internal as well as external stakeholders including key opinion leaders, policymakers, regulators, ensuring alignment with project goals.

· Nurture and manage relationships with involved stakeholders.

Policy Development and Thought Leadership:

· Drafting policy recommendations, position papers, press releases, OpEds, speeches, etc., contributing to advocacy and thought leadership initiatives.

· Conduct primary and secondary research to create in-house papers and concept notes.

Event Organization and Management:

· Organize end-to-end events, including structuring programs, selecting discussion topics, securing speakers, managing sponsors, marketing events, and handling logistics.

· Develop post-event reports or summaries highlighting recommendations and key takeaways.

Industry Trends and Monitoring:

· Stay updated on industry trends, monitor developments, and analyse policy issues in the digital health landscape.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Healthcare Management, Public Policy, Digital Health, AI or related fields.
• 8-10 years’ experience in strategic project management or consulting in the healthcare sector in areas such as policy development, project management and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
• Strong analytical and research abilities.
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a cross functional environment.
• Experience of working in the broader healthcare sector
