XCL World Academy is seeking to appoint a Head of Mathematics / Secondary Years Mathematics Teacher. This is a full-time position starting from 1 August 2025.

Preference will be given to teachers who have relevant subject-specific IB MYP and DP experience, as well as a clear track record of superior teaching in international school settings.

The Head of Department role is an added responsibility to the teaching position.

Main Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities - Head of Mathematics

• Assists new and existing staff members in orientation of subject, programme and/or grade level curriculum.
• Leads an ongoing review of curriculum development and alignment within the department.
• Coordinates department's assessment calendar to ensure a balanced spread of assessment deadlines through the academic year, adhering to deadlines, laid out by the curriculum coordinators.
• Ensures the standardization of assessments and maintains accurate records of this process.
• Assists the department in the development of learning targets for students.
• Actively collaborates with other Heads of Department in ensuring horizontal and vertical curriculum and skills alignment for all students.
• Complete tasks directed by the Senior Leadership division, that would come under reasonable expectations of a department leader.
• Sets departmental goals that align with the vision and mission of the school.
• Provides guidance and support with regards to goal setting, monitoring of goals progresses for each individual staff member and conduct reflection meetings with team members.
• Facilitates and contributes to discussions and decision making as part of the curriculum leadership team.

Person Specifications

• Undergraduate degree from a recognized university or college.
• Possess skills and attitudes aligned to the purpose, mission and vision of XCL World Academy.
• Need clear eagerness, resilience and understanding to engage and collaborate in the development of a highly aspirational school.
• Teaching experience and professional certification specific to applied position.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a class teacher, preferably in an international K-12 school, IB Programme experience.
• Leadership experience in leading a department and performance managing employees.
• Have demonstrated commitment and education and learning beyond the classroom.
• Be flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
• Salary commensurate with experience (International School) and according to the School's teaching scale.

• Develop a school-wide strategic plan for sports that will improve student-athlete participation, see ongoing improved athlete and team performance and results, and establish XCL World Academy (Singapore) as a leading sports school in Singapore
• Collaborate with the sport specific coordinators - football, basketball, girls sport; to ensure that we continue to provide quality coaching practices and opportunities for student-athletes to develop positively in the chosen sports
• Source and provide appropriate professional development opportunities for our coaches and sport coordinators to develop current best practices to benefit our student-athletes
• Find and secure coaches for school teams from internal staff and external providers
• Set standards for coaches to ensure team performance is improving, player development is evident, and XCL World Academy (Singapore) enhances its reputation as a high performing sports school.
• The contact point & manage the hosting for home games throughout all seasons to demonstrate the high standards held for sporting events at the School.
• Manage end to end planning, coordination, communication, meeting, schedules of ACSIS leagues effectively with Parents, students and vendors appropriately.
• Drive results and meet agreed expectation, provide effective communications with team coaches; lead and manage bookings, payments and all other logistics to ensure smooth running of the program.
• Ensure home game logistics and setup is actioned - venues, equipment, officials
• Make informed decisions on cancelled games in line with ACSIS expectation and advise parents and visiting schools in a timely manner.
• Organise the appropriate equipment for all the teams each season, manage the distribution collection, inventory and ordering of uniforms.
• Effective management of budget, equipment, facilities, guest speakers, athlete development programs and conduct review for consistent improvement in programs, services and end to end management of Sports in the school.
• Liaise with other XCL schools for development of the XCL Olympiad to provide international sporting opportunities for XCL students to connect oversee the organisation of XCL Singapore teams travel to away venues.
