Qualifications

What you should have:

- Bachelor's Degree or above, majoring in Computer Science, or related fields, with 3+ years of experience building scalable systems;

- Proficiency in common big data processing systems like Spark/Flink at the source code level is required, with a preference for experience in customizing or extending these systems;

- A deep understanding of the source code of at least one data lake technology, such as Hudi, Iceberg, or DeltaLake, is highly valuable and should be prominently showcased in your resume, especially if you have practical implementation or customisation experience;

About the Team

The Observability team supports various core business lines within TikTok, as well as external enterprise customers through Volcano Engine. It focuses on solving big data architecture challenges for a 100+PB level data set to create an industry-leading big data infrastructure. The messaging middleware team is tasked with the exploration and advancement of a messaging platform, overseeing the Message Queue systems for various products, including TikTok and other business-related products. Our scope extends to handling a data scale that sets an industry standard. The team has independently created the BMQ message queue, employing a storage and computing architecture separation and ensuring compatibility with the kafka protocol. Beyond prioritizing stability and cost-effectiveness, we are proactively investigating and broadening business scenarios. This involves unlocking the inherent value of original log data and integrating with batch computing engines.

Qualifications

What you should have:

- A proficient software developer skilled in at least one general purpose programming language, such as C/C++/Go/Python;

- Familiar with operating system, network, computer architecture and other related knowledge;

- Experience in developing large-scale, high-performance and highly available distributed systems;

- Familiar with at least one of these MQ systems or other similar systems (e.g. - Distributed streaming processing platform Kafka, real-time distributed messaging platform NSQ, high-performance distributed messaging and streaming platform RocketMQ, distributed messaging system Pulsar, etc.);

- Experience in system performance analysis and optimization.

Our goal is to build a Data Warehouse that can cater to batch and streaming data, Data Products that provide useful information to build efficient data metrics & dashboards which will be used to make smarter business decisions to support business growth. - Translate business requirements & end to end designs into technical implementations and responsible for building batch and real-time data warehouse

- Manage data modeling design, writing, and optimizing ETL jobs

- Collaborate with the business team to building data metrics based on data warehouse

- Responsible for building and maintaining data products

Qualifications

- At least 5 years in software engineering and 2 years of relevant experience in data engineering

- Proficient in creating and maintaining complex ETL pipelines end-to-end while maintaining high reliability and security

- Familiar with data warehouse concept and have production experience in modeling design

- Familiar with at least 1 distributed computing engine (e.g. Hive, Spark, Flink)

- Familiar with at least 1 NoSQL database is a plus (e.g. HBase)

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and manage internal and external stakeholders across all levels of seniority
