The Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) Coordinator manages and supervises the operational and administrative functions and activities of the HPB department. He/She is responsible for overall coordination and care of HPB patients’ pre-and post-operative management. He/She will provide patient counselling, develop education materials, and conduct talks for medical and nursing staff. In addition, he/she will also coordinate various research activities involving HPB; as well as oversee the maintenance of databases of patients.
Responsibilities
• Provides knowledge, counselling and teaching to patients and family on HPB diseases, pre and post-operative procedures and treatment options
• Supervision of nursing care of the HPB patients (pre-operation, ICU and general ward and in follow-up clinic).
• Overall responsible for the HPB Enhanced Recovery After Recovery Programme: Planning / Protocol evaluation / Performing pre-operative education to the patients and families / Monitoring and Evaluation of the programme / Data entry
• Responsible in the coordination with the multidisciplinary team, especially in the care and management of HPB patients undergoing Interventional Procedures
• Plan, implement and evaluate patient and family educational guidelines, teaching guides and pertinent educational materials needed for patient and family education in the department.
• Responsible in the coordination of patient care management in the outpatient settings
• Assist in the coordination of patient care management in the HPB Pancreas Clinic.
• Assist the Head of Department in planning, recommending and monitoring of the goals of the department
Requirement
- Bachelor in Nursing with 2 years’ relevant work experience
- Able to multi-task and work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of MS Office is compulsory
- Pleasant and mature person personality with good inter-personal and communication skills
