We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physiotherapist, Therapy Assistant or Fitness Instructor to join our team, working with older adults in the community. The ideal candidate will conduct physical assessments, provide both individual and group-based interventions, and educate participants on falls prevention, frailty, and healthy aging. Additionally, the role involves active participation in functional assessment, data collection, multidisciplinary teamwork and discussions.
Job Description:
· Conduct targeted and individualized physical assessments for participants upon recruitment and during periodic reviews (training will be provided).
· Develop and implement exercise programs for participants, including OTAGO and Motor-Cognitive Dual-Task training.
· Train and supervise volunteers and staff at Senior Activity Centres to conduct exercise programs and periodic reviews.
· Provide education talks on falls prevention, frailty, and healthy aging.
· Ensure proper documentation of records for referral to community partners.
· Work as part of the “Implementation of Decade of Healthy Aging Action Plan to Screen and Prevent Decline in Intrinsic Capacity in Elders (SPICE) Through Multisectoral Collaboration” Team or community partners to deliver the above services.
· Participate in functional assessment, data collection, multidisciplinary teamwork and discussions with team and partners
· Foster close and warm relationships with participants, their families, and volunteers, demonstrating care and respect.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy or relevant training and work experience as fitness instructor.
· Qualified and full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) preferable
· Previous working experience in a hospital or eldercare institution is advantageous.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to speak multiple languages will be advantageous
