Main duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure deployment, support and being accountable for the following areas: 

             o    Databases daily, weekly update and refresh
             o    Oracle middleware products
             o    CTRM and Analytics applications: installation, critical business process monitoring and business & developer support

• Support and interact in a worldwide context with infrastructure, security, network and applications Teams
• Resolve any request from users in the areas described above
• Document standards and follow procedures
• Monitoring and managing databases and Unix equipment WW

with the following technical domains:

• Databases: Oracle 18c / 19c / 23ai  included knowledge in DataGuard, Pdb-Cdb, RMAN and performances tools

• Oracle products :
  • Oracle Forms & Reports Application servers
  • OGG: Oracle Golden Gate ( data replication, Zero Downtime maintenances)
  • OUD: Oracle Unified Directory
  • OEM: Oracle Enterprise Management

• Past track records with Oracle/MSSQL/DB2/MySQL/Postgres/Maria/Mongol databases including setting up and managing the environment.
• Experience in setting up and managing databases in a high availability active-active setup will be added advantage.
• Knowledge in PL/SQL scripting will be added advantage.
• Knowledge in working with ETL and data co-existence technology with legacy systems will be added advantage.
• Knowledge with DB audit and security will be added advantage.

• Design the database’s architecture and modelling strategies to ensure that the database is secure, scalable and performs reliably.
• Work with the application development team to define the application data model and work on tuning and optimizing database related operation.
• Be point of contact to principal vendors for software and hardware.
• Provide production support and responsible for the resolution of database related issues and duty rotation for after-office-hours support.
• Provide support on to application team on database related matters (e.g. data patching, application deployments, extracting data from database for reporting)
• Plan and strategize data mapping for migration of data from legacy systems to support the deployment of the project, ensuring no data loss during conversion.
• Review data mapping/conversion/integration specs between systems to ensure appropriate mapping quality and adherence to modelling strategies.
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of data sync during co-existence with legacy systems.
• Develop and maintain database-related codes / scripts such as data sync scripts, data masking scripts, stored procedures etc.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DB Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, supporting, and maintaining our database infrastructure to meet or exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This role requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills, extensive experience with Oracle databases, and the ability to lead and mentor a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Planning:

• Design, plan, support, and maintain DB infrastructure to ensure robust and efficient operations.
• Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed stipulated SLAs.

Performance Monitoring and Problem Resolution:

• Monitor DB infrastructure performance and address technical issues promptly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system DB infrastructure problems that may require the creation of new techniques, tools, and processes.

Project Support:

• Provide effective implementation and operational support for projects, ensuring SLA compliance.
• Lead and manage the DB infrastructure team to deliver high-quality support for project needs.

Analysis and Improvement:

• Analyze internal and external business challenges and regulatory issues, proposing improvements to enhance infrastructure performance and compliance.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continually improve the DB infrastructure.

Availability and Standby:

• Be available for 24x7 standby on-site or on-call support after office hours, weekends, and public holidays for operational or implementation projects.

Teamwork and Leadership:

• Demonstrate strong teamwork and provide clear instructions and guidance to team members.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and mentor junior team members to build a cohesive and skilled team.

• Extensive experience with Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Job Responsibilities: Customer Provide a high quality, first level of support to all stakeholders in resolving issues and ensure that a clear customer focus is maintained and that support calls are dealt with inside agreed service level agreements (SLAs). Ensure the Service requests, issues and Problems tickets are logged in ITSM ticketing system. Escalate more complex server and system operation issues to the relevant level 2 and 3 teams and ensure a timely resolution and closure of tickets within SLAs.
