The position is responsible for supporting the Business Underwriting and Portfolio team in Corporate Solutions division. Responsibilities include pricing for group insurance policies, product development, portfolio management and benefit advisory to clients and intermediaries to support the divisions overall business strategic and financial goals.

The role holder will liaise with internal stakeholders including Senior Management, Finance, Actuarial and Group Office. External stakeholders include intermediaries, reinsurers, industry associations and regulators.

Responsibilities:

Pricing and Product Development

• Determine pricing for employee benefits insurance products in accordance with the company’s underwriting standards, with the objective to minimize excess risks and maximize profits and retention. This includes regular review and monitoring to ensure portfolio profitability remains in line with best estimate assumptions.
• Developing new products and enhancements to existing products in line with company’s product standards. This includes refreshing pricing assumptions, pricing tools and conducting regular experience analysis.

Management Reporting

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of management reports. This includes internal reports for decision making by local and group management, and regulatory and industry reports submitted to MAS / LIA.
• Perform analysis on financial indicators and performance metrics and provide inputs for business and strategy planning

Tableau Dashboards

• Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards that provide quality management information to support business monitoring, decision-making and business strategy

Reinsurance Management and Administration

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports for reinsurance and pool administration, including preparing regulatory and industry reports to internal and external stakeholders
• Assist in the review, negotiation, and analysis of reinsurance treaties
• Support the review of treaty documentation and ensure adherence to Group guideline

Requirements:

• Education – Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Studies / Business or Data Analytics / Mathematics & Statistics
• Experience – 2 to 7 years of working experience in Actuarial / Group Insurance (Employee Benefits) / Data analytics / Management reporting / Other business support functions involved in working with large and complex datasets
• Certifications – Professional actuarial qualification from a recognized international actuarial body with good progress towards qualification.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
• Proficient with SQL and at least one programming language
• Experience with BI tools, e.g. Tableau, Quickview, Power BI, etc.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to work both independently and within a team
• Able to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities within tight timelines

Responsible to provide operational support to distribution channel(s) to ensure smooth execution of the sales process

Responsibilities:

1. Managing and review all 3rdparty Tie-up & Leads Generation activities.

• Review 3rd Party Tie-up & Leads Generation Business Proposal submitted by organizing leaders.
• To conduct due diligence check for all 3rd party tie-up.

2. Conduct monitoring on introducer sales and marketing activities

· To utilise platform to conduct social media monitoring on introducers and districts sales and marketing activities.

· To identify any unapproved marketing materials and escalate for further follow up.

3. Reviewing of collaterals and marketing materials

· Ensure that the marketing materials are in accordance to the Company’s checklist and requirement.

· To work with other internal stakeholders to conduct review of marketing materials and ensure review completed within the TAT.

· To issue approval code once all internal stakeholders’ queries has been completed.

4. Managing and support engaging of Appointment Setting Officer and matters pertaining to CPF Medisave Liabilities

· Review application and sent for screening before seeking approval on the engagement of Appointment Setting Officers.

· Liaise with IT for request of new logger / Spidergate enable phone / retrieval account.

· Maintain register for audit purposes.

· Liaise with CPF Board, provide in-force listing on monthly basis for computation of Medisave Liabilities

• Review defaulter list provided by CPF Board, prepare letters and communicate to location sales teams to follow up
• Liaise with Finance Department for deduction of Medisave Liabilities

5. Managing and Support Application for Span of Control Deviation for Tied Distribution

• Review application received, sent for screening to ensure meeting the requirement before seeking approval
• Conduct annual assessment on SOC Deviation to ensure that they continue to adhere to the prescribed standards of deviation.

6. Ad-hoc Tasks

To assist in any other ad-hoc projects that requires Department’s involvement

Requirements:

• Education – Tertiary education
• Experience – At least 2 to 5 years of experience in life insurance industry
• Familiar with MAS’ Financial Advisers Act (FAA), relevant notices, regulations, and guidelines; LIA Guidelines, Product Knowledge and Company’s procedures and process will be an added advantage.
• Communication skills, Problem Solving skills, Influencing skills, Strategic Thinking, Coaching, Presentation skills and Facilitation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Application (E.g. Excel-Vlookup)

• Business Intelligence, Analytics & Data:
• Plan the strategic design, delivery and maintenance of PD reporting and analytics to implement meaningful quantitative or qualitative insights.
• Acts as strategic business partner to create and deliver valuable dashboards and data feeds to optimize visibility in business performance.
• Develop consistent approaches and methodologies for data analysis, automate repeatable tasks and drive process efficiencies.

• Participate in annual internal and external strategic business planning, including charting PD ambitions and financial growth.

• Explore and harness new data sources in the data warehouse for effective usage and better sales performance management.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel
