Background

Our client is one of the regional MNCs in Construction industry. Well-established over decades with solid reputation. Their large variety of projects covers public and private sectors, across building, civil and infrastructure segments. They are looking for an astute Senior Project Manager with strong track record in Marine Infrastructure projects.

The Position

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the project team to complete projects on time, within budget and meeting quality parameters in line with the standards and expectations of client and relevant authorities.

A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:

• Provide technical expertise as required on project.
• Responsible for managing and positively developing relationships between Company & Client(s).
• Line Management of employees and driving employees’ productivity and performance.
• Responsible for managing job profitability of assigned projects.
• Guidance on team in project works in terms of quality and safety standards.
• Monitor and ensure that site progress is in accordance to master programme with no delay in works and proper work sequencing.
• Efficient management of resources and materials.
• Excellent client facing with strong people orientationability to build and develop positive relations with authorities & consultants.
• Possess strong skill in developing and delivering effective communication to different audiences.
• Able to lead and inspire high performance, to ensure project plans are implemented on a timely, efficient and effective basis.
• Adherence to safety practices in the work place.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Education: Degree in Civil/Marine Engineering from a recognized university
• Experience 15 years of experience in delivering projects within construction maincontractor organizations
• Experience in marine infrastructure projects required

Technical Competencies

• Technical expertise and knowledge in Structural Design, Marine Engineering and Contracts
• Administration with established experience and proven ability to deliver projects
• Proven track record of managing teams and delivering projects from start to hand-over
• Extensive experience within a construction environment demonstrating accountability and ability to meet commitments through key internal stakeholders, clients and staff at all levels
• Microsoft office skills and in particular, use of Microsoft Project

Roles & Responsibilities

• Efficient and hands-on project managment as crucial member of key leadership team for large-scale construction project.
• Effective implementation and successful completion of projects undertaken by the Company within schedule, cost and quality.
• Manage each phase of the project from design to completion and ensure efficient use of resources and enhance cost-effectiveness.
• Liaise closely with subcontractors, architects, consultants and authorities; set guidelines and provide expertise and supervision to the team.
• Monitor compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and practices.
• Support project tendering as and when required; develop relationships with prospective clients for business development opportunities.

Requirements

• University degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related to Built environment, preferably recognised by PE Board.
• More than 8 years’ relevant working experience at managerial level for large-scale building construction projects.
• Pro-active work attitude, dynamism, self-motivation, results-orientation, team cohesion
• Strong technical competencies and good interpersonal skills.
