Together with the team, you will support and navigate the growth of IKEA and steer the business towards sustained long term profitability, including securing financial business performance and compliance with policies and standards.

Your Assignment

• To lead the store Business Plan process together with the Steering Team and proactively work with local market data to understand people’s life at home and our customers experience across all touchpoints to provide relevant insights;

• To take the lead and drive performance update, commercial and operational insights (where possible) and secure the relevant inputs during the forecasting and budgeting process;

• To work closely with the Commercial Team in identifying commercial opportunities and promote the use of business case thinking when evaluating and acting on those opportunities;

• To drive and coordinate the financial business planning process and secure that the financial dimensions are aligned with the store challenges and priorities while involving and creating commitment among stakeholders;

• To have a good and full understanding of the Profit & Loss (P & L) for the store and steer actions to provide store in shape as new, managing and/or reducing costs while considering all impacts on the P&L and follow up on result and activate scenario plan (if applicable);

• To steer the effective use of staffing resources through using process effectiveness KPIs to ensure constant evaluation and improvement of our staff planning;

• To provide relevant, user-friendly business information, promote standardised reports and secure competence in the organisation to allow for analysis and understanding of the performance to make optimal business decisions; 

• To secure all investments are done with proper analysis/ ROI, considering all aspects of different projects;

• To ensure and implement relevant rules and guidelines in the areas of Risk and Compliance, cash administration routines, accounting rules among others

Your profile

• A strategic finance business partner with at least 10 years of leadership experience, strong analytical skills and commercial acumen to be able to translate business needs into financial consequences and solutions;

• A collaboration champion with strong influencing skills to navigate and succeed in a large matrix organisation;

• A leader who has experience in leading teams, preferably in retail environment coupled with budget and business steering;

• A retailer who contributes towards the business through actions and presence including weekends, public holidays and on rotating shifts

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Provide professional and prompt customer service through the creation of a rewarding end-to-end journey in different customer touchpoints. Support the IKEA for Business Sales Support Specialist in initiating business development activities, including establishing, verifying leads, and following up through multi-touchpoint initiatives to provide a base for sales activities. Manage and provide various sales support information to enable the selling team to engage and meet our customers’ needs in all touchpoints.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB

• Contact (via phone call and email), qualify and maintain all incoming inquiries via the designated IKEA for Business website before assigning the enquiries to the B2B operations team or other respective business units.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Business Navigation Manager helps to navigate and steer IKEA to sustained long-term profitable growth by securing and continuously evolving an effective performance measurement framework consistent across all countries, to give a complete profit and loss overview.

You will also lead and coordinate country Business Navigators to support business performance and ensure financial independence. Additionally, you will promote lean, simple, and effective ways of working and support the organization in making sound investment decisions.

Your assignment

• In cooperation with the Country Navigators, Commercial Network Organization, Data & Analytics team and functional leads to develop & implement the principles, methods, and tools to create the best view on Ikano Retail’s performance of the IKEA business line.
• Work with Finance and Business Operations manager and to secure that developed principles are properly reflected in corporate Manuals and SOPs.
• Contribute actively to the creation of a consolidated view on actual performance of Ikano Retail (IKEA BL), identify areas for improvement, business potentials with commercial and operational insights to improve the accuracy of our budgeting and forecasting.
• Support the Reporting & Consolidation Manager in the coordination and stakeholder alignment for the IKEA Budget & Forecast (incl. SA) processes by creating organisation alignment on timeline & milestones as well as on central directions/ budget assumptions (e.g. budget frame).
• To review and challenge the country managers and BN’s on their IKEA country performance for actuals, forecast and budget ensuring all required commentaries are updated to deadline.
• Lead the creation of the goal and frame letters with the Country BN’s and confirming the basis of the incentive targets for the IKEA business line.
• Working together with Country Retail and BN managers to create and follow-up of long term (3, 5 &10 Years) financial plan for Ikano Retail.
• Develop and implement principles, methods, and tools to assess for Expansion investment opportunities and projects applied consistently across Ikano Retail (IKEA BL) markets at both pre-opening and post-opening stages.
• In cooperation with the respective Country BN Managers, follow-up on completed IKEA Expansion projects performance compared to Investment Request and identify possible areas for improvements.
• Support Ikano Retail (IKEA BL) global projects with financial simulations navigating towards best possible Return on investment as well as the best experience for Customers and Co-Workers.
• Be a manager for Manpower Navigation Manager, matrix partner for Country Business Navigation Managers and to represent Ikano Retail (IKEA BL) at IKEA CBF Forecasting Forum.
• Promote the use of business cases when identifying, evaluating, and acting on business opportunities.
• To analyse and evaluate benefits, costs and investments, looking at the business from all relevant perspectives, ensuring a good return on investment and qualitative business cases taking the macroeconomic indicators into account.

You will be involved in the staff planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, translating the store’s strategies and goals into performance measurements through analysis and benchmarking. Working with multiple functions across the business, this is a highly visible role that represents a great opportunity to develop a thorough understanding of IKEA commercial operations.

Your assignment

Financial analysis

• Having the full understanding of the store’s P&L, and support the Store Business Navigation Manager in steering actions to provide store in shape as new, reducing costs while considering all impacts on the store’s P&L.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process through close follow-up of the P&L and provide regular updates and recommendations to store management on the store’s financial position.
• Identify, assess, and translate key industry trends into emerging risks and strategic business opportunities that shape the trajectory of our commercial opportunities.
• Provide relevant and user-friendly business information on the store’s performance KPIs through dynamic reports. You influence with data, and articulate key insights to the store management team to drive sound business decision making.
• Responsible for timely and accurate closing of the monthly account, and all necessary procedures for monthly closing and annual closing while ensuring compliance with IKEA accounting standard, legal, tax, and statutory compliance in Singapore.
• Support the correct procurement of indirect material by requesting and comparing supplier quotations, performing periodic reviews on contract management and supervision to ensure purchases are compliant to procurement principles and IWAY standards.

Staff Planning

• Support the staff planning process through analysis on productivity/ efficiency drivers to maximizing resource availability and skills across all departments.
• Responsible for following up on the staff planning process from budgeting and forecasting and reporting, taking commercial influences taken into consideration.
• Identifying and escalating when the schedule for actual hours exceeds the financial framework and possible improvements in the process for the store are identified.
• Contribute to the deliverables of objectives in the store staffing approach with close follow up on staff planning and related retail KPIs with accurate reporting.
• Responsible for safeguarding the stores complete staff planning process and performance and advising managers in ways to maximize resource availability.

Your profile

• A professional with minimum 6 years of strong FP&A experience and business acumen and feels invigorated by a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• A globally recognised professional accounting qualification, e.g. CPA, ACCA, CIMA, etc., is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to influence and galvanizing others to follow you toward a solution.
• Process driven, results-oriented with excellent analytical capability and critical thinking skills.
• Meticulous with strong attention to details and good follow-up skills.

• Prompt response to inquiries, offering tailored solutions, and recommending supplementary items to enhance the customer buying process.
