3. During the training period, the contract technician will be paired up with a senior technician for OJT

We have a specialised Chemistry Practical Lab in preparation for chemistry practical examination, and our very own 360° Total Chemistry Learning System™ (based upon the best education research and teaching practices from the UK and Switzerland) with well-organized activities and carefully curated worksheets to prepare students better for their theory examination.

We are looking for an experienced lab technician to oversee the planning and operations of the lab.

Do ensure that you can commit to the working hours of a lab technician at Achievers Dream Learning Centre: 5 days work week (Mon-Fri), 12:30pm to 9pm before applying for this role.

Responsibilities:

• The preparation of materials and equipment for science lessons.
• Maintaining science laboratories and preparation rooms and their equipment, and services in good order.
• General duties in support of the teachers in Achievers Dream. Some examples of the kind of duties which may be required are set out below.
• Disposing of waste materials
• Collecting apparatus and chemicals from storage
• Preparing necessary solutions for lessons
• Arranging for apparatus including worksheets, books and audio-visual aids to be available, in rooms, for lessons
• Preparing experiments, setting up apparatus and equipment for demonstrations and practical lessons as requested by teaching staff
• Liaising with staff overuse of equipment and stock
• Advice staff of any problems, including safety aspects
• Assisting with collection and cataloguing of sundry worksheets, books, audio-visual aids and materials
• Returning apparatus, etc. and chemicals to storage as soon as practicable
• Repairing damages or arranging for this to be done
• Constructing apparatus and equipment
• Performing experiments once and get the results for teachers
• Routine maintenance of science laboratories and preparation rooms, their equipment and services
• Maintaining the laboratory clean and tidy in conjunction with the teacher in charge of the room
• Cleaning the sinks, chemicals on bench tops, spillage’s of chemicals on the floor
• Storing materials in a neat and tidy manner
• Carrying out safety checks on equipment, e.g. Bunsen tubing etc

Requirements:

• Diploma in relevant discipline
• Experience in working in a lab (at least 1 - 2 years)
• Mondays

• Provide onsite technical support for end user services, including troubleshooting, problem identification, rectification, and escalation.

• Offer support for hardware components such as desktops, notebooks, printers, and scanners.
• Perform installation, re-installation, troubleshooting, and reconfiguration of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft applications found on Desktop PCs and Notebook PCs. Examples of such software include Windows 10 OS or any standard desktop OS, MS Office, Internet Explorer, MS Outlook, MS Outlook Express, etc. Install Apple iPad software.
• Assist with queries, escalation, problem determination, resolution, and MAC (move, add, and change) activities.
• Perform printer maintenance.
• Tackle and resolve complex calls or tasks that other engineers were unable to resolve.
• Provide exceptional customer service.

• Good to have Professional Certificate, Diploma or advanced /Higher /Graduate Diploma.
• Hardware Skill – Desktop, Laptop, Printer and Scanner
• Good in Installation, Setup and configuration
• Windows OS (preferable Windows 10)
