We are seeking a highly motivated individual to become part of our Impact Forecasting team based in Singapore. This role involves working with Catastrophe Insight and Tropical cyclone R&D practice groups. The role will focus on development of natural catastrophe models quantifying risk due to tropical cyclones for re/insurance applications and as such, successful candidate is expected to understand catastrophe risk model development methodologies, become proficient in the ELEMENTS platform; and understand general catastrophe modeling practices and features. As a territorial contact for catastrophe insight team, this role will also involve assisting APAC reinsurance brokers and clients prior/during/after catastrophe events.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Key Responsibilities

· Support the Asia Pacific markets which Schroders operate in, specifically China and Hong Kong

· Project manage client activities whilst ensuring all internal parties deliver to the agreed timelines and keeping stakeholders informed of progress

· Production of Project implementation plan and client facing documents to track and monitor progress

· Develop and execute transition implementation plans / runbooks for Client activity ensuring seamless integration and safe delivery of assets.

· Coordinate the review and execution of client legals and to actively seek to understand the client mandate and have consideration about all commercial aspects of the relationship

· Strict adherence to Schroders policies and procedures

· Lead contact and liaison person for Clients, Consultants, other asset managers and where appropriate third-party providers such as Custodians, Administrators and Transfer Agents

· Build strong relationships with the Client Service Group ensuring the client owners and Centres of Excellence are informed, sharing knowledge through procedures, papers and training & awareness sessions

· Attendance at external client meetings as the lead Client Implementation representative

· Uphold and support the values and brand of Schroders to our clients

· Maintain knowledge of the regulatory landscape

· Have or seek to develop an enhanced understanding of investment strategies and Schroders products and solutions

· Carry out other duties as assigned

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

· Direct experience within the Asset Management industry

· Degree in Banking and/or related areas

· Understanding of client lifecycle activities

· Detailed experience in transitions, onboarding and client service

· A good understanding of custody, transfer agency and fund administration

· Good proficiency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese to deliver Schroders messages coherently and confidently to clients, specifically to meet business needs within the China and Hong Kong markets and collaborate effectively with UK Headquarters

· Confidence to question existing strategies, policies and procedures and input into any strategy discussions

· IT skills, detailed wording knowledge of MS applications, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

· Confidence to lead project calls and/or meetings with internal and external stakeholders

· Problem solving and relationship management skills

• Help with contract administration, progress claims, and liaise with the Client's representative on claims and variation costs.
• Compile subcontractor quotes for review and approval.
• Keep Contract Manager updated on all contractual and site matters.
• Review and verify subcontractor/supplier claims and prepare payment certificates for approval.
• Prepare final accounts and variation submissions.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalents.
