Are you up for the challenge of leading in a rapidly growing pharmaceutical company? We're seeking a visionary Plant Director to spearhead strategic initiatives and drive operational excellence in our thriving manufacturing plant!

Reporting to the VP of Operations and Supply Chain Management, you will oversee the manufacturing environment and lead the workforce effectively to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and manage the site to ensure timely production, product quality, plant safety, and regulatory compliance. Establish, maintain, and improve site facilities, equipment, and utility capability. Set up and enhance departmental workflows, continuously improve productivity and operational efficiency, and reduce operational costs. Ensure that site daily operations meet or exceed company strategic goals.
• Prepare and implement the company's production plan, coordinate resources, improve productivity and operational efficiency, meet orders on time, and ensure product quality and process safety.
• Oversee departmental management and team building, including managing plant daily operations, meeting client expectations, and ensuring GMP/EHS/FDA compliance.
• Collaborate closely with R&D teams, QA, QC, and other departments to ensure seamless tech transfer, successful scale-up, and commercial production. Continuously improve plant technical capabilities and engineering capacity. Develop and expand the company's manufacturing capabilities and capacities to meet the fast growth of the business.
• Manage plant EHS to meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations, ensuring safe plant operations.
• Establish plant policies and management procedures to meet business needs. Manage day-to-day manufacturing activities, priorities, resources, cost control, and troubleshooting.
• Enhance departmental workflows to optimize equipment utilization and availability continuously.
• Manage budgets, spending, and budgeting variances.
• Take necessary actions to ensure the success of client audits and regulatory inspections and implement measures for continuous improvements. Develop and maintain good relations with local government.
• Support the introduction of new RD products and manage transitions to new scales of commercial operations.
• Foster a highly efficient and motivated team. Motivate and develop team members, build a strong leadership team, and empower team leaders. Establish systems to encourage innovation, collaboration, and customer orientation.

Requirements:

• Candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the pharmacetical or biosciences industry, with substantial experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and a demonstrated dedication to customer satisfaction.
• Demostrated capability to thrive in a dynamic and multifaceted and manufacturing environment with a portfolio of up to 500 product SKUs.
• Demostrated capability in establishing new robust processes and improving legacy systems.
• Proven Technical capability in reviewing, approving and managing multiple high value CAPEX projects simultaneously.
• Experience in handling external regulators including, US-FDA, EMMA and ANVISA
• Candidates who hold a Lean Six Sigma are highly favoured.
• Fluency in mandarin is required to communicate effectively within the plant environment.

About the Role:

This is a key position which needs an experienced and results-oriented Operations Director to lead and oversee all aspects of our business and operations requirements. He (She) will report to the Group COO and is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring high-quality products, meeting production targets, and achieving company profitability goals.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management

· Contribute to the development and execution of the company's overall business strategy.

· Lead and manage manufacturing teams, including production supervisors, engineers, quality control personnel, and maintenance technicians.

· Delegate tasks effectively and provide coaching and mentorship to team members.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including sales, engineering, purchasing, and finance departments.

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory authorities.

· Formulate operational budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.

Operations and Production

· Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

· Oversee all aspects of the production process, from raw material procurement to finished product delivery, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

· Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and best practices to identify and eliminate waste in the production process.

· Manage production schedules, inventory levels, and material flow to ensure on-time delivery, minimize lead times and optimize supply chain efficiency.

· Implement and maintain effective preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.

· Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, equipment upgrades, and automation.

· Analyze production data and identify areas for cost reduction and quality improvement.

Quality System

· Establish and maintain a robust quality management system (QMS) to ensure consistent product quality.

· Develop and implement quality control procedures and inspections throughout the production process.

· Track and analyze quality metrics and trends, identifying and addressing any potential quality issues.

· Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and customer specifications.

Financial Performance

· Develop and manage the manufacturing department budget, ensuring adherence to financial targets.

· Monitor and control production costs, identifying and implementing cost-reduction initiatives.

· Contribute to the company's overall financial planning and forecasting.

Compliance and Safety

· Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and environmental guidelines.

· Implement and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

· Investigate and address any safety incidents or concerns promptly.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field.

· Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a leadership role within the manufacturing industry (preferably knowledge in connector and cable harness).

· Proven track record of success in achieving operational excellence, cost reduction, and quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and best practices.

· Experience with wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and other cable harness assembly processes is a plus.

· Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

As the General Director, you will manage profit and loss of the projects, drive revenue and profit growth, cost, service and performance improvements within organization and with service providers. Under your leadership, you will be expected to leverage on established networks and build strong relationship with local authorities, business partners and customers. You will also support Head of Vietnam to seek and structure C&R business development opportunities to expand the footprint of the Company.
