Job Summary:

The Singapore Organisation of Seamen is seeking an outgoing and self-driven individual to join as Senior Manager of our Membership Services Division. This role requires strong communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to develop recruitment and retention strategies to enhance the overall member experience.

The ideal candidate needs to have a passion for and interest in addressing the needs of our members and have a strong background in membership & event management, strategic planning, team leadership and be adept in systems and process optimization.

This is a full-time and permanent position reporting directly to our senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service and support to all members.
• Develop and implement effective membership strategies that increase membership growth and member engagement, retention and satisfaction.
• Administer membership welfare schemes.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align membership strategies with the organisation's broader objectives.
• Prepare membership reports for senior leadership on membership performance, trends, and opportunities for improvements.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the membership services division remains innovative.
• Travel when necessary for overseas assignments.
• Other duties that the role may require.

We are looking to employ a highly driven assistant sales manager to assist the sales manager with the day-to-day running of our store. The assistant sales manager’s responsibilities include developing strategies to improve sales, effectively handling customer complaints, and assisting with the recruitment of sales staff. You should also be able to delegate tasks to the sales staff in the absence of the sales manager.

To be successful as an assistant sales manager, you should demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and ensure that sales staff comply with company policies and guidelines. Ultimately, a top-performing assistant sales manager should be able to achieve excellent customer service at all times.

Assistant Sales Manager Responsibilities:

Continually meeting or exceeding sales quotas.

Supervising and guiding the sales team as well as providing incentives to motivate staff to achieve sales targets.

Monitoring the performance of the sales team.

Ensuring that the store is clean and well-maintained at all times.

Building and maintaining good working relationships with customers.

Identifying opportunities and strategies to increase sales.

Regularly attending sales meetings and training sessions.

Ensuring that the store is adequately stocked with company products.

Performing all duties of the Sales Manager in cases of absence or emergency.

Assistant Sales Manager Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field is advantageous.

Proven experience in sales and customer service.

Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

Job Description

• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, and other Departments in handling guests’ requests, inquiries and complaints regarding accommodation, service and billing. Ensure that these activities are well executed to ensure guests’ satisfaction with accommodation and services.
• Formulate and enforce all policies, procedures, rules and regulations pertaining to Front Office activities and ensure that Front Office staff personally understand and adhere to such approved standard procedures and policies of the Hotel.
• See to the preparation and finalization of all Front Office reports, schedules and so on.
• Maintain all the cashier float at Front Office to be in order.
• Check employees’ performance regularly, correcting any mistakes and inadequacies, proceed the counselling if necessary.
• Assess the performance of the staff in Front Office Department regularly and give recommendation of promotion / re-designation to higher management if any staff is applicable.
• Attend daily operation briefing chaired and conduct departmental briefing regularly and keep team updated the necessary information.
• Train personnel according to the established procedures by conducting regular training, schedule meeting to discuss problems, give instructions and assignment of duties etc.
• Ensure that the investigation of irregularities and undesirable guests are properly conducted.
• Receive and greet VIP guests and attend to their inquiries, requests and needs.
• Develop and implement procedures to govern Front Office activities and ensure the Front Office personnel understand and adhere to such approved standard procedures and policies.
• Ensure an effective control rooms reservation to avoid overbooked situation and assist to maximize hotel occupancy.

Job Requirement

• Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or other relevant qualification is preferred.
• Minimum 4 years’ related experience in a full-service hotel or mid-range hotel is preferred.
• Ability to manage time, organize, good communication and motivational skills
• Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies
• Candidates must have a good command of spoken and written English, and any additional language is an advantage
• A team player and takes initiative to assist other team members when required
• Well-groomed and professional disposition.
• Good guest relation and problem-solving skills
• Oral and written fluency in English. Fluency in another language is an advantage
• Commitment to work rotating shift and any day, including weekends and public holidays.
• Great communication skills, ability to interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflect highly on the hotel, the brand and the company.
