Job Requirements:-

• Minimum five (5) years of experience as RTO, of which at least two (2) years shall be in supervision of works similar in nature to the Works
• Diploma in Civil or Structural engineering from a recognized tertiary institution or relevant qualifications.
• Accredited with the Joint Accreditation Committee of the Institution of Engineers Singapore and the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore.
• Have a certificate in Workplace Safety and Health Management in Construction Industry or equivalent.
• Possess good analytical ability with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic librarian to join our team. The librarian will be responsible for managing the school library, providing assistance to students and staff, and promoting literacy and a love of reading within the school community.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Ensure system, resources and equipment are well maintained.
• Manage and operate the School Library System for circulation and online enquiries, database maintenance, e.g. student and staff information, status /location of library collection, online reservation portal for teachers and students to make reservations for books.
• Provide loan and information and enquiry services to students and teachers upon request.
• Organise/catalogue library collections according to the Dewey Decimal Classification system and/or by genres.
• Maintain a collection of newspaper and magazine articles and databases suitable for use as supplementary resources to support teaching and learning as well as research.
• Maintain an inventory of non-library Desk Copies (check-in / check-out process for desk copies).
• Manage resources for Teachers Professional Development.
• Define collection and other functional areas with clear layout, directional and informational signages and guides.
• Ensure the integrity of the data in the Library System, e.g. bibliographic records, patron information and status, location of library collection and generate and maintain P1 to P6 Library Cards.
• Circulation of library collection available for loan.
• Development and preservation of collection to ensure currency and relevance.
• Inventory check and maintenance of library collection.
• Provision of assistance to HOD to plan termly library schedules; and
• Provision of assistance to departments to liaise with supplier(s) on the purchase, delivery and verification of library resources acquired.

Requirement:

• Diploma or GCE ‘A’ levels or equivalent, with good credit in English
• Proficient in technology (MS Office, MS Excel, digital tools, social media platforms)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, to work collaboratively with teachers, students (aged 13 to 18) and vendors.
• Stooping, bending, lifting and reaching is required for picking up and shelving books.
• Experience in the library industry would be an advantage.
