• Maintain timely and accurate records of patients’ information (procedures performed, and results).
• Comply with established guidelines of infection control practices.
• Maintain medical equipment.
• Assist in the development of policies and procedures.
• Improve / enhance laboratory and operational processes.
• Implement procedures to ensure maintenance and operation of diagnostic equipment within manufacturers specifications and accreditation requirements, document quality control procedures.
• Participate in interdepartmental efforts to facilitate a safe environment for staff and patients.
• Maintain TTSH Service with Excellence standards.
• Assist in certification programs and continuing education information for the laboratory.

Administration

• Prepare reports of procedures performed; maintain records and files reflecting patient information, expenditures, revenue, and other operational data.
• Manage staff schedule to ensure adequate coverage for services; Plan and schedule work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignment and adequate manning, space planning and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
• Supervise, train and coach junior and new staff.
• Perform the competency in the relevant skills as defined by the Department (see Orientation & Skills Checklist).

General

• Monitor and requisite consumables and inventories.
• Assist supervisor in collating and compilation of statistics
• Ensure preventive maintenance of all equipment at department completed on time.
• Actively participate as a member for quality improvement projects at Hospital wide / Departmental level.
• Understand and follow hospital and departmental protocol for emergencies and disasters.
• Develop and review Job Instructions and Job Improvements for department work processes as well as training and equipping staff to carry out their work correctly, safely and conscientiously.
• Help promote a working environment of collegiality and effective teamwork.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Head of Department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

(A) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree or Diploma holder preferably in Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, Health Sciences or equivalent
• Candidates with some relevant experience is preferred
• Able to perform night shift duty.

(B) PROFESSIONAL LICENCE

• Registered as Polysomnographic Technologist for Degree holder preferred

· Carry out in-house maintenance duties (including maintenance and repairs to building

fabrics and troubleshoot plumbing & sanitary services)

· Check and fix mechanical and electrical installations in large office building

· Carry out routine and preventive mechanical and electrical maintenance in the buildings

· Supervise contractors for repair and maintenance works

· Respond and attend to tenant/ user requests

· Familiar with Building Automation System

· To test and service fire alarm systems

· Carry out in-house maintenance duties (including maintenance and repairs to building
