Function: To monitor all technical and safety matters concerning designated vessels and to implement the Company technical and safety policies, whilst retaining cost effectiveness.
Responsibility:
1.Maintaining the vessels Classification status, and compliance with all international conventions.
2.Maintaining the vessels to Company and Oil Major standards. Monitoring of planned maintenance system.
3.Routine inspection of vessels worldwide.
4.Production of refit specifications and cost comparisons.
5.The maintenance of safety equipment to legislative requirements and Company standards
During refit or repair, responsibility for dealing with:
1. All technical matters locally, including repairs, servicing and safety
2. All matters connected with the prompt departure of the vessel.
3. Ensuring timely information flow to the relevant office departments or agents.
4. Referring all matters concerning cargo working or conditions to the marine Department
5. Carrying out a complete general inspection of the vessel and compilation of written report including senior staff performance.
Requirements
1.The position requires a First Class Engineering License
2.Must have valid Chief Engineer license
3.Minimum of 15years sailing experience in oil tankers as an engineer
4.Minimum of 6 years of experience as CE on oil tankers
5.Minimum 4 years of experience as Marine Technical superintendent with Dry Dock experience.
6. To possess the ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
7. Willing to travel frequently on board and sail on ship.
